My husband had a business trip and I tagged along. The "big pink castle" on the beach is absolutely awesome to drive up to. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We had a great time at this fabulous resort. I couldn't help imagining what it must have been like when the hotel was first opened in the 1920's. I enjoyed reading about the history of the hotel on the clippings posted downstairs outside the hotel shops. There are some nice shops, a great ice cream store, and a piano bar inside the hotel. The outdoor bar serves up some great exotic drinks and a good assortment of fare to munch on while you are enjoying the pool. We were impressed that the bartenders were able to remember the hotel guests's names and oftentimes what they drank! Very personable! They offer a kid's camp for guests traveling with children which seemed to offer a lot of activities planned in and around the pool areas and the hotel guests' children are kept entertained. They even came around the pool from time to time to offer Italian ice to the guests as well as kept chilled water and pitchers for the guests to use to stay hydrated while you are outside.

Some of the suites have their own private terrace as well as ocean views. There are some large beach beds for two on the beach with curtains that could be drawn for privacy. Very luxurious. A trolley stop was nearby so we could take in many of the local sights without a car. We really enjoyed the Suncoast Beach Trolley. A great way to get around St. Pete Beach.

Hey y'all,

Stayed at this resort with the whole fam....and let me tell you...it was unbelievable, amazing, down right just what we needed. The beach is like right there....like RIIIGHT there....awesome! Um two pools and there's...what's that you say? a bar in the middle? order me up a pina colada and a strawberry daquari for later! The rooms are super nice as well. They have the sandy walls with white trim and the "Florida sky blue" for the ceiling.

I highly recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing beach experience.

Happy Traveling!

Had a weekend getaway planned for my son's 18th birthday. Checked in at 7:30 pm and checked out at 11:30 pm. At about 10:45 pm I complained of the noise (music/bass so loud the furniture was vibrating!), other guests who were obviously drunk yelling in the hall, kids screaming and running through the halls. No offer to move us to a quieter location-nothing by way of consoliation at all. They did offer a full refund but have not seen that yet, only another charge of $249+ which I have no idea what for. Never again!!

I cannot believe that anyone could have a negative thing to say about this place. It has great historical significance and is a landmark in the area. We got an oceanfront room with an off-season package ("Sippin' In The Sun") and were surprised to find out that the parking charge I was expecting was included with the resort fee. Since I had joined their loyalty program, wifi was free as well. After the two day stay, I received a bill that was $75 less than I had expected. The front desk staff, concierge, and doormen were extremely helpful and informative. The hotel is very large and pink and is quite a sight to behold. They have two pools and beach access right past the pools. Umbrellas are free to guests. The restaurant were very good, also. We really hate to leave and continue on our vacation. It is a top hotel, for sure.

We decided to stay at the Don CeSar for our 4 year wedding anniversary and we were not disapointed. Since my husband was able to get a government rate we were very happy to be staying at the Don. When we pulled up to the resort we were surprised as to how large the resort was. I could not find my wallet when we were checking in and the lady at the desk was being very pasient with us as we had to go back to the car to check and it was there. they upgraded us to a balcony room cause of our anniversary, balcany was of the street but at least we had one. Everyone at the Don was always sooo nice. There were a couple of wedding going on and it looked like they do a wonderful job. The pool was great. We had a wonderful time no complaints. The rooms were clean a little small but who cares about that.
