We recently stayed at the Don Cesar for my 42nd birthday and wanted to comment on how attentive, personable and accomodating the staff at the Don Cesar were! The GM Nik went out of his way to insure that we truly enjoyed the occasion! The resort is perfectly situated on the Gulf Coast surrounded by fine white-powdered beaches. The vibe is very tranquil & serene and perfect for a weekend getaway or to celebrate a special occasion. They cater to families and our 3yr old daughter has a blast. We had a phenomenal time and we will definitely be going back in the future!!!!

Before I even got there I felt pampered! The concerige took care of booking a town car for us from the airport and called the day before to see if we needed anything else before we arrived. All the staff were so friendly and accomodating. Everyone said "Hi" to us and asked if we needed any help. If was like being at Disney World, the only other place I have ever witnessed this kind of service.
The room was beautiful! Though the bathroom was a little small, but it is an old historic hotel.
The Spa was fantastic! Definitely worth the price. The experience was just amazing. We had massages and mani/pedis.
We ate or drank at every restaurnat or bar, except the really expensive restaurant. The service everywhere was great and the food and drinks were wonderful. My favorites were the drinks at Sunset Tequila bar, the ice cream at Uncle Andy's and having lunch served poolside.
I wish I was back there now!

Built I believe as a hospital for wounded soliders, mthe Don Ce Sar is a luxury hotel on St. Pete beach with white sand beaches and the gukf out your window. I especially loved the pool side bar where they make the best Pina Collada on earth!

This historic property has panache. They have put a great deal of thought into the renovations and amenities.

The hallways are wide and brightly lit - a comfort to a female traveling alone. Rooms are small and odd-shaped but comfortable and inviting.

Staff is courteous and caring but not obtrusive. Food was yummy! The beach and pool areas are clean and fairly quiet.

Do not miss the spa. Worth the time!!!

I'm ready to go back. Today.

Room Tip: Beach views are the best.

The Don Cesar has taken a historic porperty in an idyllic setting and given it the most up-to-date amenities possible. While the standard rooms are somewhat small, the room was light, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. The service from check in at the door to housekeeping to service at the bar and the restaurant was five star. The grounds are welcoming and lead to a pristine beach and mother nature treated us to a spectacular sunset.

Room Tip: The rooms with balconies and facing the beach are great.

My family stayed here in July and rented three room types...a standard room, a suite without a balcony and a suite with a balcony. Check took a little longer than expected, but nothing horrible. standard room was small, but typical of such an old hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. the suite without a balcony was a slight disappointment. Sitting room had no window and the bathroom was a bit tight. I would spend the extra few bucks and get a balcony suite next time as the set up there was far more comfortable. Service was fine and the pools were decent. Beach was very nice. Prices are typical of a resort. Overall a good experience. nice place but not a 5 star experience.

Spent a Friday evening at a wedding celebration in the penthouse suite - very nice. And we stayed the next evening overnight in a beautiful room. The room had two double beds, there were three of us, small but well appointed bathroom, desk and chair, a comfortable armchair, keurig single use coffee maker and a locked stocked refrigerator. The wi fi was free. The coffee was free. We didn't use the bottled water ($7.00) or anything from the refrigerator ($$). The lobby bar was very nice. There was a nice pool and outdoor restaurant, and good beach area. Because our time was limited we didn't use the outdoor pool, beach or outdoor restaurant. We did have the brunch in the morning. It was good but needed to be replenished more. For $19.99 you received coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, ham, oatmeal, french toast sticks, different cut up fruit, bread, bagels, some pastries, lox, yogurt and a made to order omelet if you wanted it. The only wierd thing is the entry. You drive up to the main lobby and can either park it or valet it once you drop off your luggage but to get into the hotel lobby you walk down some steps. I felt sorry for the bell hops, what a pain. BUT having said that all the staff were gracious and the place is beautiful.
