Dolphin Beach Resort
Ranked #21 of 32 Hotels in St. Pete Beach

The rooms were filthy. There was trash under the bed and previous guests toiletries left in the shower. Rooms were full of mold. The hotel needs a massive remodel. The pool was nice and it being on the beach was awesome, otherwise not impressed. Won't be back.

We found the hotel reasonably cleaned and every morning there would be a crew out cleaning the pool and area. poor water temperature was warm and found the water very clean . room was cleaned daily but no specific time to help plan around being out of the room. management could take a few lessons on friendliness . Tikki hut or the poor bar was not lively at all. lots of lounge chairs around the pool and you didn't have to run down to save a spot. first room we got had no balcony and for the price we paid had to turn around and go back down to the desk and request another room with balcony. very happy with second room.lots of places to eat and drink and walking the sandy beach everyday was great and so was watching the sun set in the evenings. Publix and liquor store across the road. being from Ontario Canada we found people on the beach and around pool not all that friendly.

Room Tip: make sure you specify room with balcony and pool/gulf view. if you don't ask the desk for help...

Worst hotel ever. Ive never been to a hotel where I have been treated so poorly! And not just by one person...the ENTIRE staff. I spoke to the manager and she was the rudest of all. They were not the least bit accomodating. If you are looking for a beach access hotel this is not your best option. Forget about checking out and going to the beach. Once you return your room key they will tow your car if you dont move it immediately per management. We went to the sirata which was right next to them. The food and service there was excellent. I recommend you stay there or somewhere near just NOT the dolphin beach dump.

During our stay we were very disappointed with the customer service, while checking in the manager became argumentative over the parking pass, she claimed she had already given us one when she didn't, which was sorted out as soon as she actually took the time to check to see that she actually hadn't given it to us yet, something so simple shouldn't require an argument. In the morning we went for breakfast at the resort restaurant and were told it would be a 45 min wait even though hardly any tables were being used because they were 'too busy trying to bus as well as serve to seat us'so we went to one of the other resorts instead. Staff were also rude and unhelpful when we asked for a phone number fora shuttle service; we were hung up on once and when we called back were told there was no shuttle service in the area, so we just looked one up on Google ourselves and easily found one.when we checked out we asked if we could leave our car parked at the resort for a few more hours to go to the beach, and were told we would need to pay the $20 fee for the day or they would have our car towed. Every time we were in the lobby or main areas we over heard other guests complaining about the customer service and that it was impossible to get a table for breakfast at our own resort. We did have a great experience at the other resorts in the area, which are all right next to each other, so bottom line save yourself from the trouble of dealing with the dolphin's rude and argumentative staff and go somewhere you can actually get breakfast. All of the other resorts right next to it are so much better.

The worst customer service of all time. I called to request room service and got hung up on. I called the next morning to request clean towels and was told, very rudely, that I need to come to the front desk to request anything for the room. We tried to eat breakfast there, but the service was unbelievably slow. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait to get a table. We saw multiple empty tables that just needed to be bussed. How does it take 45 mins to clean some table? We ended up going to a different hotel to eat breakfast and came back 2 HOURS later and those tables were still not cleaned. We had planned on staying at the hotel a few hours after checkout to hang out at the beach, but were told that we would have to pay $20 to keep the car in the lot or it would be towed. There were tons of empty spots. They seriously couldnt let us stay there a little longer without paying? Plus, the room was dirty. The bath tub was black and stained. The fridge had what looked like pieces of the waxy wrapper of a cheese block in it (so obviously the fridge was not cleaned out). The towels and sheets had stains on them. Overall this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, especially for the price.

Just returned from 4 nights at the DBR with a senior group of 53 people. The resort did a great job with our accommodations and the breakfast buffet every morning. While I'm sure it is an older hotel, they just did a total renovation last year and everything was freshly painted with new carpet in the rooms and the public areas. Our room was very large and very clean. The beds were soooo comfortable! We stepped right out to the beautiful pool and were also just steps to the gorgeous white sand beach. Workers were always around cleaning or working on the grounds. While this was not a luxury hotel, it was very nice, clean and comfortable and the amenities were great. I would recommend this as a good reasonably priced hotel for a vacation. I am a travel agent and I wouldn't hesitate to book clients here.

Rooms are old and outdated. Room had an old musty smell. Roach in the bathroom. A/c did not work the best. Did not have quality bedding very hard beds, thankfully I brought my own sheets after reading some reviews prior to going. Having a bar right next to the shuffle board and volleyball did not make the atmosphere kid friendly, lots of people smoking a drinking. My tiny 1st grade son was even threatened while playing. This place is dump, yes it is a cheap affordable price compared to other hotels on the beach, you get what you pay for I guess and the clientele shows that as well. This is most definitely not a 3 star hotel.
