Specializing in Colossal Lump Crab Cakes and a variety of Fresh Seafood Items, but also offering the finest Steaks, Salads and even Pizzas, The Brass Monkey has something for everyone. Drawing on 18 years of restaurant experience in the Maryland Chesapeake Bay area, Kelly and her husband Barry have worked to achieve uncompromised and superior food quality, service, value and consistency in a casual dining atmosphere. All of the menu items are prepared in-house with the highest quality ingredients and painstaking attention to detail and freshness, all offered at a reasonable price. We are proud to say: "We overlook nothing but the Gulf!"

“For Crab Cake Lovers”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

Worth the trip to Pass-a-Grill, The Brass Monkey is recommended for its Maryland Crab Cakes and rightly so. Although essentially a sports bar, up one flight of stairs, the view from the balcony over the street and beach is great especially with the sun going down.
If you can manage to find a 2 hour parking spot after 6pm in the side-street, you'll be lucky.

“Great ocean view”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

We fell in love with Pass-A-Grille and spent a Sunday afternoon watching football from the Brass Monkey's deck overlooking the ocean. They have a beautiful spot for beach viewing. The nachos with pulled pork and fresh tomatoes, etc. are great. Their grouper sandwich was meaty and cooked perfectly! They make a mean Dirty Monkey too!

Strong drinks, best sunset view on the 2nd floor patio. Nice local people. Great service...our server Katie was so fun and nice to talk to. Had the Crab dip baked pretzel which was wicked good just like menu says! Known for their crab cakes....but too full to try but they looked amazing!

“Awesome view, food nothing terribly special :shrugs:”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

I have visited the Brass Monkey many times during my trips to St. Pete over the years, and while the view of Pass-A-Grille Beach really is beautiful, the food for me is expensive for one, and nothing terribly special for two. Everyone raves about the crab cakes, and since I don't eat crab cakes I cannot comment on those, I usually get the (what is essentially) a bacon cheeseburger, and while good, I find it kinda cheapy that the plate doesn't come with fries, just a bag of chips .. c'mon son :-/

Pina Coladas were tasty as well, but the prices are kind of expensive and for what you pay one should get things like french fries w/a burger, and not have shell out $5 for an enormous, uneatable portion of fries after the fact. The bill for the two us came out to a rather high number for pretty much the same amount of food & drinks we've gotten at higher scale restaurants and I really wasn't feeling that :-/

Its a nice place to eat, especially for the view like I mentioned, but the food being as average as it is can't justify the prices.
