This fun and casual bar provided some great times. Chris the bartender makes everyone feel welcomed while providing great service and offering helpful tips of the area. You can't beat the view from your seat of the beach and sunsets. If you're looking for a cold drink this is the place.

Thank you so much for your terrific review of Rick's Reef Beachside! It seems we're accomplishing exactly what we set out to do. It was our dream to create a place on the beach for folks to gather for good times in a beachside casual atmosphere. We think we have the best views on all of St. Pete Beach, and certain have amazing sunsets all year long. We hope you'll come back again and again, and bring your friends. Chris is there 5 days a week, and Brenda will make you feel just as comfortable on the other two! See you soon!

Think this place could be on the way out. Popped in there for a few beers before I went into the Luna . So clearly didn't eat. But bar staff were not overly helpful and one in particular was moaning about how much they hated working there. Not ideal.

You are wrong!

And clearly are posting this in the wrong place!

Rick's Reef Beachside is a Tiki Bar which is staffed by 1 person each day, and 6 out of the 7 days it's staffed by Chris, who absolutely loves his job, his "office" and his boss. And, this small business is currently VERY successful. So, we're not sure where you were (and apparently neither are you) but I can promise you that we couldn't be more please with how things are going at this little Tiki Bar at the edge of the sand on St. Pete Beach, but we're not going anywhere!

I guess that I was expecting more, but walking up to the bar from the beach, all that was offered were a few selections of beer, hot dogs, nachos, and a slush machine that offered two kinds of slush that, if desired, rum was added. The attendee was friendly enough, and I got the impression that he worked there a long time. It was lunch time and there were only two sitting at the bar. One of them was the bartender. We ordered two of the slush drinks that were poured into small plastic cups, rum was added, ice was added, then placed in a blender. Voila! Not much to write home about at all. I saw nothing advertising a separate restaurant, hamburgers, or anything else written about in other reviews.

We're certainly sorry your visit to Rick's Reef Beachside was "Much less than expected," but we think you expected to be at our other location! You were at Rick's Reef Beachside, which is our beach front Tiki Bar with FABULOUS views of the beach, the Gulf of Mexico, and the amazing sunsets in Florida's "Sunset Capitol!" And, yes, what we offer there is simply the coldest beer, soft drinks and bottled water on the beach. We also have wine, and as you mentioned, frozen rum drinks. That's really all it's meant to be! We offer Hot Dogs, Nachos and a Homemade Smoked Fish Spread for those who want a quick snack. But the main focus at our Beachside location is offering cold beverages to folks who are spending time at the beach, or waiting for that perfect colorful end of the day. It's been very popular, and well reviewed, since it opened just a few short months ago,

Had you asked the bartender about food he would immediately have told you about our fabulous restaurant just up the street on Gulf Blvd. Rick's Reef offers excellent casual dining in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is varied and made entirely from fresh ingredients delivered and prepped daily. With lots of fresh seafood dishes, BBQ entrees that are smoked in-house and a wide variety of other choices we have great food for everyone!

So, we're not surprised Rick's Reef Beachside was "Much less than expected." You were in the wrong place!!! Next time look for Rick's Reef at 6712 Gulf Blvd, and we're sure your gonna love it!

We found a home away from home with Ricks Beachfront. We visited Chris at the tiki bar on the beach almost every day! Chris remembered everyones name and was very attentive to our needs. Chris told us about the smoked ribs and salmon on Saturdays at the main restaurant. We got to Ricks before the ribs & Salmon were smoked so we sat around for a couple hours and sipped on beer, margaritas and munched on the lobster mac and cheese (which was wonderful) and the fried potstickers. Can't wait to visit again:)
