This was the best part of our two week trip through Florida. Everything was perfect. My kids have already told me that next year they want to skip Disney and spend the entire vacation here.

We found Gulf Tides Inn on Trip Advisor. This was our first vacation with our 15 month old child. Gulf Tides Inn offered everything we needed. The location is perfect. Close to the beach, restaurants and grocery, especially the little greek place around the corner. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the convenience of being able to sit out with the other guests and share some great stories and laughs with fellow Atlantic Canadians. Everything we read on trip advisor was true, we found no faults with the Gulf Tides Inn. Fort Desoto Beach was fantastic was a great place to spend the day. Dave, the owner, was fantastic. He offered lots of local knowledge and tips which we appreciated. We will be back to Gulf Tides Inn in the near future.

Spent a week here from May 24 to 31, 2010 based on previous Trip Advisor reviews. If you are looking for a nice quiet clean place to stay and relax, with a nice pool this is it. There are 10 units and with the way the pool is in the middle, everyone ends up meeting and talking. We were a couple with 3 kids (13,11,and 7.) We were there at the same time as a group of 5 couples from Newfoundland, who all got together each evening around the patio and had drinks and played music and sang folk songs with a guitar and accordian they brought. It was free nightly entertainment and a nice touch to our vacation. Other couples from England, Scotland, and Germany also were there. Everything you could need is within a mile or 2, and I recommend a drive to Pass a Grill and Fort Desoto Beaches. Dave and Adelle are always willing to help and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is pleasant. This is not the Ritz Carlton, but if you know what to expect, this is a great deal and place to stay.

We chose Gulf Tides Inn based upon TripAdvisor reviews and website info. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Dave ( the owner) and shown our accomodations before we checked in. The rooms were exactly as shown in the pictures we'd seen as was the pool area. A bonus was the laundry area, outside shower, gas grill, beach chairs and umbrellas and a clotheline if you so chose to use. The other guests were very cordial and friendly which made our stay even more enjoyable. It is 2 blocks from Upham Beach and within a short walking distance to several very good restaurants. We're hoping to return to St Pete Beach in November and would not hesitate to rebook with Dave.

due to flight delays we arrived 4hrs late  dave met us as we got out of the taxi at 10 30 at night. The lady in the next apt. came and offered us some milk  to make some tea before we went to bed.We rented a1 bedroom apt very comfortable couch and lovely easy chair.beach towels provided rooms cleaned  and beds changed  once a week.this complex brings together new friendships because of how it is set out .We went 14th Feb and although it was sunshine and blue skies we were getting cold winds blowing from the north most days  as the rest of america was getting heavy snow falls. If it wasnt for the people we met here, including us in thier company  we would nt have such a good time due to it being so cold . We used to go to a british pub called the Cockney Rebel on 74th ave to have proper english breakfast and also some evenings for a meal  Fish and chips are great there ,and karioki at wk ends ,poker nights quiz nights, and even ten pin balls on WI .DAVEand ADELE helped us  to make sure we got boarding  passes for our flights back home.the great thing about this place is friendly happy enviroment

Stayed here because it was near the beach and it turned out to be a great place- cheap and comfortable with the nicest owners- who recommended lots of great restaurants, beaches and nearby sights. It's only a short walk from the beach and very handy for some great bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I were in St Pete Beach over Christmas for an aikido camp.
I fully agree with everything the other posters said about place. Great value, unbeatable location (a minute's walk from the beach) and very hospitable, efficient and well-informed owners. Am looking forward to a return trip next Christmas.
For eating out, we liked Ted Peter's Smokehouse (simple but superb: smoked fish), Cafe Luna (fancier grub) and Crabby Bills (for simple, healthy food: grilled fish or seafood & baked spud).
Also, Jen's Java - about 5 minutes' walk away - has great coffee and internet access.
For delectable muffins, try the bakery behind Jen's.
