Having attended Pops at the Beach last weekend at Pass -a- Grille, we had our first chance to sample Jackie's cuisine. Being dually impressed, we decided to try Jackie's for lunch a few days later. We were not disappointed! We ordered Stuffed Dates, Grilled Asparagus Spears, & Beet Stackers to begin with along with our wine.... the food was as we had anticipated...deliciously fresh & healthy. The staff was attentive & cordial. We will gladly return to try a few more items on Jackie's menu.

Terrific food, boring ambience, crowded, excellent service. That's it in a sentence. Jackie has done a great job in a short time. Her restaurant is a local fine dining favorite. Varied menu, but most of the classics. A pretty good wine list ....you'll find something you'll enjoy.

The ambience is two large rooms painted bright red with metal sculptures on the walls ...not really to my taste. The wait staff overall is knowledgable and some are real pros.

My favorite entree is "Encrusted Grouper". The portion is large and prepared with skill and care. Really quite good. The prime rib is enormous and cooked perfection.

The restaurant is always full so reservations are a must. They also offer outdoor "sidewalk" seating which seems comfortable.

All-in-all, you can't go wrong with Jackie's. Give them a try.

Bon Appetite!

We decided to go to this restaurant based on an article that was in the Tampa Bay Times. We made reservations, which we're glad be did, as they had a full house the evening we went. We were welcomed warmly by the hostess and seated promptly. David our waiter was also welcoming and knowledgable about the specials of the evening. The salad was fresh and delicious, we ordered the grilled trio and the filet both came with potatoes and the veggie of the day. It was a nice experience and we will go back, a girls eveing out would be perfect for lunch or dinner. The owner, Jackie came by to make sure all was as expected.

I had a reservation at Jackie's on Corey Bistro for a large group, so you'd think they'd be prepared, right? WRONG! The waitress did her best to ignore us all night, eventually making us the last table to get checks, regardless of the fact that we were finished earlier. When a glass accidentally broke at our table, she never even acknowleded it. The real issue was when the checks came, just about everyone in the party was paying separately, but instead of writing an individual check for each person, she lazily read off orders, asked everyone in the party to repeat what they had ordered about three times and then only took a few payments at a time. Inevitably, she mixed up two checks and then when approached about it, just confirmed that somebody at that table had a bill that totaled that amount, even though she charged it to the wrong person. It's not really the price difference in bills, but more the principle behind it and her total lack of attentiveness. The food was decent, but overpriced for what you actually get and the entire experience is brought down a few notches by the horrible service.

Have been visiting St. Pete's Beach for many years as my parents have a condo there. Over the years my husband and I, with or without our kids, have visited most of the restaurants and bars up & down Gulf Blvd. and beyond. We have also seen many restaurants come & go.

On my most recent two week visit with my sister and mother, we ate out quite a bit and so were looking for some place we hadn't tried before. We had always loved Corey Avenue's "old Florida ambience" with its shops and theatre (now sadly missed), but had never dined there. Having heard quite a buzz about Jackie's from friends, we made reservations one Saturday night and were not disappointed. The main dining room has low key, retro Florida decor, and is not very big, which makes it a vibrant and lively dining experience, complimented by a terrific band and lady singer at the far end of the room. In some restaurants or bars the entertainment can overpower the rest of the room and make it difficult to talk, but not so at Jackie's. It simply added to the overall fun atmosphere. I suspect this would be even more so the case on nights when diners are able to sit out on the patio however it was too chilly the night we were there. They have a great variety on the menu and between the three of us sampled many dishes and some nice glasses of wine. Our male waiter was very friendly and accommodating despite being busy. We were very pleased to find this great "new to us" place to dine which has also helped revitalize Corey Avenue. We definitely will plan to return there on our next trip. I would recommend to anyone to plan ahead and make reservations before you go as it is a busy spot.
