Our stay at the Guy Harvey Resort was exceptional. We were here attending a company sponsored conference and were beyond impressed with the facility. We have enjoyed ourselves so much that we will be planning a return visit as a family vacation at this resort. The staff were all friendly and very accomodating. The resort did an outstanding job in taking care of our conference needs as well as our personal needs away from the company functions. We were particularly impressed with our housekeeper assigned to our room, Claudia Wilson. She went above and beyond to accomodate our every need and assisted us in every way possible with ideas and suggestions during our stay.

A great resort on a beautiful beach with perfect weather. Thanks again Guy Harvey Outpost and Tradewinds Island Grand for a most enjoyable and memorable stay!!!

Room Tip: The Gulf view rooms are excellent. The kitchenette and living room area added to the great space wi...

Guy Harvey is more fun than the parent property. Thanks! Really enjoyed the deck. Great people serving us. Cissy especially made our visit enjoyable. I do think that 200 words being required for a review is a bit much. I had to submit 4 times.

We booked a suite at Guy Harvey for girls weekend Sept 26-29, 2013. The location of the resort is great - right on the beach. The hotel shows it's age - rooms are small. Suite was very small compared to what they show on their website. Two double beds took up the whole bedroom area. We had a room on the ground floor so the outdoor patio area was nice. There were numerous pools, all very small again. It seems like they tried to put a lot in a small space. For the money spent - book a standard room, the suite is not worth the extra money. We went off season and the rates were still higher than I anticipated.

Room Tip: Pick a standard room vs suite. Ground floor gives you a nice patio area right outside the slider in...

All the staff were more than welcome to help, Mary on the coffee bar was always incredibly helpful and smiling. The in house restaurant had amazing food and the pools were always clean and well maintained.
I would definitely go back, in fact I can't wait till my next visit!

We visit the Tradewinds a few times a year, and are consistently treated with great service. Specifically on our last trip the bellman Justis was extremely helpful to our family. At some point the hotel should further upgrade their room decor and furnishings, though we did notice some changes beginning to take place. Overall this is a very good place to stay right on St Pete Beach.

We stayed here with another couple for 4 nights and were all happy with our selection.

Beach - very nice beach area and super wide so plenty of room. Having the cabanas included in resort fee was nice and easy to book each day online or at kiosk in lobby. Ocean in front of hotel is shallow so you can walk out really far.

Pools- two nice pools and we really enjoyed the Adults only pool in the back. Private and nice not having any kids around. Getting towels was easy with self serve box that uses room key. Plenty of spots to sit at both pools during our October stay. They even had waiter service.

Room - ok the room was nice, however super small if you don't get an upgraded room! The standard rooms only 205 sq ft. It did have nice little kitchen area but not much walking space. Wifi was kind of slow but that's normal I've found. Another thing is standard rooms only come with 2 double beds and my fiancée wasn't happy about that one. There aren't many rooms with balconies either.

Food - it was fine and your typical hotel type of restaurants and prices. Many more choices to eat at the sister Tradewinds resort just two hotels down the beach. Which you have full access to all their services because of the wristband you'll be wearing.

Activities - the sister resort has most of them but its maybe 5 minute walk on the beach. We used and enjoyed the tennis courts which are clay, paddle boats, and big Waterslide. All were free for guests. Well actually part of resort fee. The fee varied by if you booked directly with hotel or through someone else. The hotel charged $35 a night plus $3 tax, while we only paid $25 a night and tax by using Southwest Airlines for a package deal.

Parking - plenty of it and as usual later at night it fills up but no real long walks. There's a good size lot in front as well as a parking garage with 3 levels.

Staff - overall very friendly and helpful if you have questions.

I would have no problems at all returning to Guy Harvey. I think the Tradewinds Island Grand sister resort is nicer so check the prices to compare. I'd also recommend the beach bar next door called Toasted Monkey. And definitely definitely eat the Early Bird @ Madfish you won't be sorry!!!
