We had a great vacation. FAR beyond our expectations..You can find a good hotel anywhere - especially if it is near a beach- but finding great people is such a bonus. Thank you especially to Alonso, Elisha and Carmen at the front desk who made every little question or request seem like their most important task. Many thanks to Mary R. at Perks Up for my many, many cups of Americano always served with a smile and delightful conversation. It was a pleasure to spend time with someone who loves her job so much.

We upgraded our room to face the gulf and it was beautiful...My only request would be if someone could PLEASE add some fabric softener to the towels..LOL..no, seriously :) We asked for advice on restaurants and shops and just drives..we followed everyone's advice. We know this much - we will be back next year, we are reccommending you to our friends and family, and oh yes, we have decided to retire there as well.

Thank you for everything.

Room Tip: Upgrade is worth it - do it!

Great hotel. Clean. Not too expensive. Friendly staff. The food is good from the pool side restaurant. There is also waitstaff that services the beach cabanas (hey, you're on vacation, well worth the 18% gratuity added). This is a much better alternative for some that want a less crowded environment than the neighboring Trade Winds. Although, the kid activities are at the Trade Winds. The biggest compliant is the loud continuous music coming from the beachfront bar and restaurant next door at the Toasted Monkey. The people at the bar were having a great time and the food (and drinks) looked great. But, it is hard to chill out and enjoy the beach with the loud music. The music also continues late into the night on Friday and Saturday. This was my 2nd trip to this hotel. The first time my room was on the side of the Toasted Monkey. I didn't get much sleep. So, I requested a room on the other side and it was much better.

Room Tip: Stay away from the Howard Johnson side. If you are looking for a big kitchen, this is not it.

I live in Tampa so I come here all the time. The place is great. My kids love it, there is a lot for them to do. This property also has an adult area for the grown ups that don't like loud children playing). The staff is so friendly, it's like staying with family only better. Much better.

I highly recommend Shelly at the sandbar if you need some liquid refreshments and Lisa M at guys gulfside grill if you need a bite to eat. Both of these staff members go out of there way and above and beyond to make your vacation special!

I will return to this property soon! Can't wait!

It's one of my favorite hotels in St Pete Beach. Always have a great time! We are locals from just down the street in Sarasota and its the perfect getaway for us. It always starts out great when I walk in and Pete (from the front desk) checks us in. He is so professional and courteous. He always says "welcome back home" and I love that he remembers us. The hotel is gorgeous. Always clean. The rooms are very comfortable (we love the gulf view the best). The cabanas on the beach are great and the beach staff are very accommodating and friendly. Love the free happy hour daily from 5-6. The live music at the tiki bar was a new addition for us last trip and we loved it. I could do without the daily $35 resort fee.

This review would have been excellent if it had just been for the beach & resort areas. Loved the private cabanas included in the price, the pools, the tiki bar & free drinks at happy hour. Fun fun fun. BUT... our room was not at all restful. We were in 3824, a "standard" room, but we paid $477.00 for 2 nights, so expected much better for that price. First of all, it was so small and cramped that your leg brushed the first bed when you came in the door.; one of the chairs at the desk/table partially blocked the bathroom door, you had to move the chair to enter the bathroom. The bed linens were shabby & off-color, and the bed kind of slapped together. No view, except for the parking lot. The air conditioner kicked on & off all night long loudly rattling each time. The room opened to the outside, so heavy adjacent doors banged & clanged at all hours. I guess because it was an outside corridor, people felt free to to talk loudly & call to each other at all hours right outside our window, which was about 2 feet from the first bed. The crammed design of the room allowed a bump-out in our room to be the closet of the room next door -- the bump-out was a couple feet from the head of the second bed -- the walls were so paper thin that I could clearly hear the family next door hanging things in the closet and programming the closet safe, not to mention playing & laughing with the baby at midnight. As I said, the beach/resort amenities were wonderful. The room would have been acceptable had this been a Motel 6. But such a shabby, cramped and noisy room for $477.00 for 2 nights? Travellers, be SURE you insist on an upgraded, inside-corridor room -- but who knows how much THAT would cost?

Really enjoyed the place. Lots of fun on the beach and free drinks (not all) from 5-6 daily. They do try to nickel and dime you, e.g. $35 daily resort fee, but would definitely come back. Great beach and some terrific restaurants nearby, such as Snapper's, Café Luna and Rick's Reef which you can walk to.

My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary with another couple. We had a great time. The Beach was beautiful. The tiki bar was great with the help of the wonderful bartenders. The good thing about the guy Harvey is there is such a great mix of people from families and couples to singles. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. I would recommend to anyone. Im very much looking forward to going back.
