“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We stayed at guy Harvey outpost for 4 nights, got a good vacation package on busch garden website. We arrived Fri evening after a long day at Busch gardens, tired, looking forward to our stay in GHO. We had rang earlier to request a quiet room as we had three young kids and had read some reviews re the noise from bar. When we arrived we were assigned our room right beside the loud bar! I was not too happy! I rang reception but they couldn't move us. The kids slept in bedroom of the suite so the noise wasn't too bad there but my husband and I had to sleep on pullout sofa bed but noise so bad we had to move and sleep with our toddler, 3 in a bed! We were moved the next day and from then on it was lovely, note to hotel: please honor guest requests re rooms and don't put a family of 5 with3 kids next to loud bar! After that shaky start, we really enjoyed our stay, got an upgrade on room, pools, beach, cabanas, big slide all fun, as was happy hour! Barman from Boston was v friendly. Kids loved the beach, slides, pool, we didn't avail of the Konk kids club, we went on the paddle boats and played few rounds of mini golf. We found resort transportation was expensive so we rented car instead, better value for money for us, from Hertz office on site at island grand. We ate at Beef o'brady's at island grand one evening which was good, and snappers across the road which was excellent! We had breakfast and lunch in our site as we had kitchenette. All in all, I would return.

We arrived on Friday for a girls weekend which we have done at the Tradewinds resort for 20 years. This year the Sanpiper had changed names to Guy Harvey Resort. We had made a reservation through their reservation line and asked specifically for a ground floor gulfview suite. When we arrived we were told our room was on the 3rd floor and our rservation was put in as gulfview suite with a preference of ground floor. We have always stayed on the ground floor and are Paradise Club members. Carmen Penta at the check in desk told us we could have a ground floor room Friday but would probably have to move on Saturday upstairs but she assured us she would try to keep us on the ground floor. Sure enough through her efforts because we were returning customers she worked it out so we could stay all of our time on the ground floor. Everytime we have been to this property she has always been helpful and friendly. The next helpful person we encountered was our bell man Jason D'Angelo who helped us with our bags, got us ice, helped us figure out our television and answered many helpful questions. It's people like this that make you feel at home when you are at a resort. Thank you Carmen and Jason!! Only complaint - ordered a bloody mary and found out the charge was $12.44..a little pricey to me.

Room Tip: Ground floor is awesome..rest of the rooms on other floors don't have balconies just windows tha...

Your most valuable employee is captain Tim! He goes above and beyond year after year! Miss him at red beards but an asset to the outpost!
Lorene in maintenance is very poor.
Rooms are very dirty. Grounds show clean. Shame the rooms can't be.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a 5 night stay at GH Oupost by Tradewinds. Having stayed at their sister resort (Island Grand) before, I have to stay I much preferred the atmosphere at Guy Harvey more. The staff were excellent and really tried to get to know you during the stay. There was a small community feel at this resort, as we saw same people at the bar and beach everyday. We stayed in a Romance Room with a gulf view. This room was nice and spacious and even included a big jetted whirpool tub to relax in. This resort is geared more towards adults even though there were a fair share of kids. The beach was not crowded and the cabanas were very nice. We will return here hopefully sooner rather than later!

Location was great. Loved the adult pool. The bartender Viktor at the Sand Bar was fantastic, he had an excellant personality, made us feel right at home and made a great drink. I would definitely return.

Except for the fact that reservations booked us for the wrong room type we are having a great stay at the Guy Harvey Outpost. Jason provided friendly helpful service. Carmen Pina is the best front desk/reservations employee I have ever had. When I made the original reservation over the phone the employee reserved the wrong room type. I was very clear to her that I wanted a ground floor ocean front suite. I even said which room and that we had stayed in that room several prior years. For some reason she only reserved a ocean front suite (not ground floor). I was very very disappointed when at check in I was told the ground floor room was not available. Carmen worked very hard to secure the correct room type for us and it wasn't easy. She made several phone calls and was able to work it out far us. She is fantastic!!!
