Stayed at the Sandpiper propery of the Tradewinds Resort with my 13 year old son. We had a great time and shared some great moments together. The staff were very helpful and friendly and very informative when it came to activities and directions for my son and I to be able to enjoy our stay there to the fullest. I would go back there again without hesitation. We went through Allegiant Airlines who recommended Tradewinds on their website.

Room Tip: Go throught Allegiant Airlines for reservations.

Great place to stay - liked the quieter Sandpiper and just walked over to the Grand for the activites. Kids and teenagers loved it.

Average beach hotel. My husband and I went for a weekend getaway. I feel the location would be better suited to families than for a romantic trip.

Good location, clean pool areas, beach cabanas are nice but a little far away from the water. On check-in we were kindly upgraded to a suite. It was 2 double beds, a sitting area, and kitchenette. Room was not cleaned as well as I would have liked - used wash cloth left in sitting area corner, toothpaste on inside rim of sink, hair on a clean towel. Sink had hairline crack in it, but other than that room was fine. Have adult pool and family pool - no bar at the adult pool.

We did not have time to go to the Island Grand so I cannot comment on that. I did not feel the resort fee was worth the amenities we used. All that being said, we wanted to sit on the beach all day which we did and had a great time.

We love the Sandpiper. We loved it before it was the Tradewinds Sandpiper and love it even more now that it is affiliated with the Tradewinds Island Grand. Double the fun.

It has always been a great place for families, but this time around it was just Ma and Pa, and we discovered it is also a great place for couples.

We requested a room overlooking the adult pool, which was very quiet and tranquil. The room itself was very pretty and tropical with a wet bar and a very spacious bathroom. There were plenty of towels and everything was spotless.

There was no problem getting our double cabana the next morning, and everything was set up perfectly for us. There are several choices if you don't want to necessarily spend all your time at the beach. Aside from the two pools (family or adult) at the Sandpiper, there are 3 pools at the Island Grand just a short stroll down the beach. One of the pools is semi-enclosed making it a great place to cool off out of the sun. They also have paddleboats you can ride through a pretty manmade waterway that winds through the resort.

If poolside and beachside are not to your liking the Sandpiper also has a lovely space between the beach and the pool where they have lounge chairs and hammocks set up among the sea grapes and trees. It's a nice quiet place for a nap or a chat.

There are several choices for eating and/or drinking, and you really never have to leave the Tradewinds during your stay.

The service here was wonderful. Everyone seemed committed to making our stay as pleasant as possible.

As in the past we would not hesitate to come back again.

We were in town for the Van's Warp Tour! We dropped our teens off and headed for the beach! Check in was so pleasant! I wish I got her name, but the lady that checked us in was so friendly! We even got to check in early! We had planned on staying at Sandpiper's sister hotel Tradewinds, but it was full. However, Sandpiper was probably a better fit for us since it had 2 beds, kitchen, and living room area. The rooms are in need of a facelift, old tube tvs, but it was clean. The pools are on the small side, but they did have an adult pool, which was a plus! At check in we got a scratch off, and won a dinner for 2 at Bermudas, which is at Tradewinds! The food was excellent!! Tradewinds is just a very short walk on the beach, but a much longer walk on the road, so walk on the beach if you go over there! We had a very pleasant time at Sandpiper!
