Bongos on St. Pete Beach gets high marks for ambience. We enjoyed our evening in the shaded dining area on a sandy beach and saw that parents in tables around us had time to relax as little children played in the sand. Guests of all ages dug their toes in the sand, too. We found the staff was pleasant and the beach food better than average. I enjoyed the fish tacos and heard no complaints about the fish and chips. All our portions were ample. Bongos is the kind of place to unwind, talk, gaze at the gulf and sky, and notice that life at the moment is good. We'll go again.

Go for the view. People were nice, view was great. Food was decent. So as long as you are going for the atmosphere and not the quality of the food (but still decent) then you won't be disappointed.

Had a meal at bongos as we were staying at the Hotel.
The food was very good at a reasonable price with very large portions. In fact almost everyone leaving after their meal was carrying a box

We stayed at the Grand Plaza so we frequented Bongos. Decent food and drinks, nothing extraordinary. It's nice that you can just come up from the beach with your suit on. The service is a little spotty, sometimes they're really attentive and sometimes you have to ask multiple times for something. It was convenient so that's why we went so many times...we wouldn't have driven out of our way to come here though.

The outdoor seating area is right on the beach and has an awesome view. We had some beach drinks that were excellent. We ordered the meatball sub and chicken Parmesan. Dinner prices were expensive, $20 just for chicken parm and it was over cooked and the sauce was not good either. The same sauce was in the meatballs and they weren't anything special. Next time we will drink there and eat elsewhere. The service was very good.
