I was very pleasantly surprised by Bongos. Often I find that restaurants that are part of a resort are over priced and serve mediocre food. Not so Bongos and their sister restaurant, Spinners.
Excellent staff, fair pricing, clean and consistent. Bongos has live music daily/nightly. And the food is good! An, of course St. Pete Beach is THE place for sunsets!

Been there last year and came back this March. Unbeatable food, draft beer and drinks on St.Pete Beach. Try the mojito shrimps !

Bongos has really stepped up their game over the past year. They've done a lot of renovations and adding a lot of seating for dining. The food is good, slightly over priced for a sandwich in my opinion, but the tables are in the sand with nice umbrellas amongst the palm trees. It is nice during the day for lunch and beautifully lit up at night for dinner and an excellent place to watch the sunset! They also added a second bar and lounge seating to enjoy the live entertainment. The food is good and portions are large. The service is average. Overall a really nice place for drinks or dining!

This is simply an outdoor restaurant at the beach. Some of the tables are in the sand, some on raised decks. You have to seat yourself, and you might find (as we did) it requires some persistence to get staff to help with finding chairs, and getting a table set up. Location is great, on the beach next to the Grand Plaza Hotel. There was a live musician playing, which was a nice touch. Once we finally wrangled a table, we found the service quite good. Food was generally tasty, but on the expensive side. If you are looking for a very informal place, this might be it.
