What a great little bar/grille right on the beach! I stayed at the hotel onsite (Grand Plaza) and ate here for dinner 3 nights and for lunch 1 afternoon. The staff are all very friendly. They have live music every evening. The food is awesome. The drinks are good too!

They offer a variety of afternoon and evening entertainment. We visited Bongos many times during our stay and it was always enjoyable.
We did have a buffet event the day after the wedding and ran out of food before all our guests were served. We had to ask for more food. They prepared more food and guests had to wait. We felt the staff should have been watching the food levels and the line of people yet to be served. We did give an accurate head count and felt they underestimated food. They did serve everyone and made it right.

After a cold couple of days during our weekend visit - it finally warmed up and we ventured to St. Pete Beach area and found Bongo's. Lunch was busy but we found a table in the sand and our son was so happy to just put his feet in the water! Service was very good but place was understaffed so she got very busy manager noticed and came to all tables which was good Our lunch was tasty cuban sandwich, fish taco excellent! Drinks even better:) so relaxing and great atmosphere. It was the perfect way to end our trip!

My wife and I have travelled extensively in the Caribbean and now are exploring Florida for retirement opportunities. We have never experienced such great service. The staff work together like a team and are always ready to say "yes" to any request you may have. They even moved the propane heater closer to us for our comfort so that we could eat outdoors on a chilly night. It did the trick and made for an enjoyable evening. So if you happen to be here on a cooler night, don't let that stop you. Eating outdoors is a treat for us since we are Canadians and winter is very long. But it was really the pleasant and attentive staff that blew us away. No "attitude" here! The food is great and reasonably priced. No long waits for a nice meal. Oh, and did I mention the view? Great sunsets overlooking the ocean. You won't be disappointed.

This is what a beach bar should be: Great location, great view, good food, creative drinks, attentive staff. Great live music, even in the middle of the afternoon. We had a "waitress in training" shadowed by her trainer and both were helpful, friendly and attentive without being fussy. We had appetizers and sandwiches, very good, very reasonable pricing. Note: We parked in the hotel parking lot and later found there is dedicated Bongos parking around the side, under the hotel...it wasn't an issue the day we were there but I can imagine it might be during happy hour or on a weekend.
