This is an older hotel, we stayed here when it was a Hilton many years ago, but first class all the way! We were greeted by a friendly staff as soon as we walked in the door. The lobby is small but elegant.
Our room on the 3rd floor was very clean and smelled good also! It overlooked the Gulf, swimming pool and tiki bar area. Housekeeping does an excellent job! No carpets in the room, just tile floors which is great!
The rooftop dining experience is awesome. Great service and great food and great views! The beach bar with the music and sitting area was just right! The pool area was very clean. Buffet breakfast was hot and tasty. We are looking forward to returning to this hotel in the future.

This was our first stay at this Hotel and from the very beginning it was awesome. As we were checking in we had the surprise of being upgraded to a penthouse. Michele, in the front desk was very courteous and helpful giving us a list of best restaurants and places to see in the area. Our apartment was absolutely beautiful, with a kitchen, a bar and even a jacuzzi! The living room and the bedroom was all surrounded with glass so we had an astonishing view of the bay. Service was also great! I would definitely recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to my next vacation here!

We have stayed at this Hotel before when it was known as a Holiday Inn. They have renovated it and is well maintained. My wife and I really had a very relaxing stay. We watched a sun rise from our room (used to be able to see it while eating breakfast from Spinners (rotating restaurant 10th floor). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor Bar and Grill was very relaxing and the food was very good, the break fast Buffet and the staff at the restaurant were great. It started to storm as we sat to eat breakfast and they moved us indoors quickly and courteous. You will have a good time.

Room Tip: It depends on whether you prefer a sunrise or sunset.

We stayed in a studio room facing the gulf on the 9th floor. On approach to the hotel it looked quite dated but it was a great surprise inside. It is clean and well maintained. The room met our family's needs with plenty of room and two private balconies. We ate at the all three restaurants and enjoyed some Alabama Slammers at Bongos on the beach. We also enjoyed the bar service by the pool. It's right on the beach and meant that we really had no reason to leave the hotel. We would definitely recommend it and would stay again.

Don't understand why this Hotel is not rated higher. What a deal! Best housekeeping service ever! Clean-clean-clean! The staff even washed tile floors everyday! Stayed here during the week & never once had to wait for an elevator. Rooms were awesome. Place is older but rooms are very nicely decorated & roomy. Great deal on Breakfast Buffet. Stayed in many hotels -this is at the top for all around great experience. Thanks Grand Plaza! We'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: - Side away from Bongo's but Bay View

I stayed here with my husband and 3 small kids. We had problems with our room the first night because we got a very awkwardly shaped diagonal room. The doors in the room stuck and there was a hole in ceiling. This particular room did not cool down very well. We told front desk our complaints and they put us in a new room the next night. This room was alot better. Now for the good points-the hotels location is outstanding and we loved the beach. The hotel staff was very friendly including the gentlemen in gift shop. The breakfast buffet was ok. On our last night there, we tried Bongos on the beach which was awesome. Atmosphere was great along with musician that night.
Overall great location and staff just a very outdated hotel-but we didn't mind.

We had a good sized room with a good view over the beach. The room was comfortable. We visited the roof top restaurant - just for the view - and had god value meal in the beach bar. This had an entertaining singer on all night, We enjoyed walking on the beach - couldnt believe how warm the water was. We saw a good sunset here. The only negative was that the hotel charged for breakfast. Most other hotels we stayed at in Florida gave a complimentary breakfast.
