Stayed for a long weekend at this property. Very clean, spotless bathroom, with flat screen tv, nicely equipped kitchen, full refrigerator. Very quiet, lots of families staying there too, so I did wake up earlier than usual do the early rising kids. Pool is heated, and hotel is a short half a block from the beach. Ideal, because it's the only area of the beach I encountered with a snack bar (serving breakfast, even) and a bathroom. Eddie & Anna, fellow former New Yorkers, were personable and helpful, and the other guests were friendly, too. A very nice vibe, I would definitely return. If you're looking to relax, not for a 'scene", Passe de Grille and the Coconut Inn are great options.

We spent a week at the Coconut Inn in Pass A Grille. We had a one bedroom which consisted of a queen bed, kitchen and small dining area. There was a dressing area and white tiled bathroom plus a cedar lined closet. Our balcony overlooked the small pool. It was clean, quiet and half a block from the beach. They have beach chairs and bicycles to use. You can also walk to various restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. Many of the guests were repeat customers so that is always a good sign.

We spent 2 weeks here with family, heated pool/jacuzzi is clean and refreshing.
Had 2 cookouts with the gas grill around the pool and patio.
Beach is so close you can see it from some of the rooms. The location is perfect for strolling the beach, side streets and close to restaurants and fishing pier.

I stayed at Coconut Inn for the week of February 5th. I was in room 7 on the second floor.
This is such a charming little find. The room was immaculate and simply furnished ala Ikea style - very modern and clean lines. There is a full refrigerator and stove in the room as well and from the deck you may see the beach 1/2 block away. The staff is very friendly and down right fun! If I make the trek from Seattle again next year this is definetly where I will stay. I have already recommended it to friends.
Pass a Grille must be the most charming village in Florida. In addition St. Pete is in my opinion one of the most beautiful small cities in the country.

I travel all over the world and this is now in my best little places file!

My friend and I were booked originally to stay at the Sabal Palms but after one night we HAD to move. With only one bed and a futon in our teensy room, and the futon being SO uncomfortable, we requested a move and were very graciously accommodated. We moved to the Coconut Inn (same owner) and our room was much brighter, and slightly larger although it had the world's smallest bathroom. But everything was nice and clean, although the towels are a bit threadbare. Again, only one bed and this time a chair that folded out to a twin bed. Not the most comfortable but better than the other futon. Unfortunately, the people in the room above us were VERY heavy footed and we could hear them stomping around at all hours. I think the people who wrote that the rooms are soundproof may not have known that they CAN be easily heard. The people next door to us were also very loud and we could hear them talking to each other, both inside their room and as they stood outside our door and bellowed at each other. Ugh. But none of that is the fault of the hotel. I certainly could not imagine staying there if there were screaming kids though. The pool is tiny but nice and warm. The Inn is situated a 5 second walk from the gorgeous beach. St Pete's/Pass a Grille also has a "free" shuttle you can take into town if you want to hit the nightlife and not have to worry about driving. The drivers work for tips only and they are a great crew... we never waited more than 10 minutes for a shuttle. What a great idea! We would recommend the Coconut Inn to anyone who is travelling as a couple as the rooms we were in were not really made for friends sharing since someone has to sleep on a crappy futon. The service was friendly and very accommodating and we enjoyed ourselves. Just be prepared to be in tight quarters. Good value for the money if you're not claustrophobic.

The Coconut Inn is truly a gem. This is our second year here and we love the hotel, staff and area. A little cold when we first got there but the heated pool fixes that. Such a caring staff...we had a rain/windstorm one night and they knocked on our door to make sure we were ok.....what huge condo does that??? A half block to the beach and you can watch the sunset every night. And you can eat at restaurants within walking distance, or buy fresh fish and steaks and cook in your room. Rooms are small, but who wants to stay inside when you are on vacation? There are Parks, shopping and little interesting places close by. You can choose to make friends with everyone staying there or have total privacy if you wish. Coming into St. Pete's Airport, we rent a car and drive 15-20 minutes to hotel. Rooms are cleaned every day, they provide beach chairs to take to beach but we go to wallgreens and buy loungers and then just leave them there. We would definitely return......may next time try more toward spring or summer to see what it is like then. The McCarthys

We stayed at the Coconut Inn with four children (ages 8,6,3,1). The couple who manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel could not have been nicer to us. They made us feel like we were as special as any other guest...and not just a pain to have with children. The rooms are very sound proof, which helps when the baby did cry. The rooms also are very clean and sweet. We were one block from the beach, which made it very convenient with children. The Inn is also walking distance to restaurants and a great ice cream/candy/coffee place. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would go back. The pool is smaller but is the right size if you have to watch multiple children. Those staying while we were there included couples and families. Really, we have nothing but nice things to write. I almost didn't want to write to keep it a secret. : )
