My wife and I found the Coconut Inn to be a really clean, cozy, homey place to stay. It's as far removed from a dingy chain hotel experience as you can get, and it's exactly what we were looking for on our vacation in Pass-A-Grille. It's within walking distance of several decent local restaurants, and it's just across the street from the beach -- you can see the Gulf of Mexico from the balcony of the upper level rooms.

The staff is helpful and accessible (if they're not on-site they can be reached by phone and will handle any issues in person if needed), and the rooms are reasonably priced and very clean, which made our stay that much more enjoyable.

The smallish pool, rather than being a drawback, was a great place to engage in friendly poolside chats with other guests -- the place seems to attract friendly people (the attorney who slammed the place in an earlier review being the exception -- thankfully she wasn't there during our stay). And the pool, despite being small, has a more private feel than a big pool at a chain hotel that has crowds of people trying to lay claim to a sliver of poolside territory.

The bathroom in our unit was half-sized, but the kitchen was outfitted with a 2/3-sized refrigerator, a stovetop range/oven, a microwave, sink, counter, and eating table. Dishware and cookware are provided. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've slept on away from home. My wife thought the bedsheets and pillowcases would be more comfortable if they had a higher thread count, but that's what she's used to.

When we checked out, Eddie the manager asked me what he could do to improve our experience, and the only thing I could think of was to maybe put boxes of facial tissue in the rooms. Now I think I'd like less-scratchy toilet paper too. But sheesh, if those piddly little things are the only negatives I could dredge up after a six-night stay, that says something about how good it was.

This is a clean, friendly and guest centered hotel with LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Rooms 4 and 6 have unobstructed balcony views of the white sands and clear waters of the Bay. Passe Grille (the laid back and artsy section of St. Pete Beach) offers a quiet respite to weary and harried souls. Our room was newly remodeled...very Euro. The bed was super comfy and the sheets quite soft. Flat screen TV was
mounted close to the ceiling so NO NECKACHES!
The pool is crystal clear and the temperature is constant. It acts as an architectural centerpiece since many of the rooms surround and/or overlook it. The Jacuzzi and LED tube lights provide an extravagant touch to a cozy environment.
Eddy and Anna took special care to make us feel completely at home from the moment of arrival. The "Brass Monkey" and "Hurricane" (this one's over rated) restaurants are a pleasant stroll as is the pristine and shell laden beach (a couple hundred steps from the Inn).
Don't miss this one...great value and return potential!

We have spent many happy times at Pass-A-Grille beach and the Coconut Inn is our new favorite place to stay. It was recently renovated with wood floors, clean simple furnishings, new appliances and a bright airy beach feeling. The pool is pretty (how do they do those colorful arcs of water?) and a perfect size for this small facility. Eddie and Anna are great hosts & managers. They take pride in the Inn as if it were their own.

This is a wonderful place to stay. We will be back again and again.

The Coconut Inn was an incredible. The staff was very warm and friendly. Eddie & Anna are the best! The place is new and very clean. The room had nice decor, flat screen TV with DVD, hardwood floor, and full kitchen. The grounds are very nice and clean. The pool is decent size and the water temperature is perfect for a midday cool off or an evening swim. You get extra towels in the room and they even have chairs that you can take to the beach.

First I called the hotel to get a feel for the place...Eddie answered and was so personable...he's the reason I decided to give the place a try. Well my gut was right...the place is newly renovated and well done...clean and fresh. Eddie and Anna are the caretakers and gave personal attention to any and everything we needed. Like most I've stayed in some of the best hotels and the staff is usually very service oriented...but you usually on see them for a few minutes...we stayed two nights and three days and the service was full time...I would recommend the Coconut...next time I'm in St. Pete that will be my first choice!!!

We stayed at the coconut inn on the 4th of july weekend. We had a great time. the hotel is little and cozy. The rooms are well equipped and new, small, but after all, we only went back to sleep as we stayed out at the beach or around all day.
the staff was nice to us and we had no problem whatsoever.
the rooms are close to eachother so if kids go in the pool and are loud you will hear them playing around, but we were not bothered by them.
definitely recommend it!

My wife and I stayed at the Coconut Inn at Pass-A-Grille, located at the extreeme south end of St. Pete Beach. The village is one of the oldest resort areas on the west coast of Florida and is full of quaint shops, art galleries, restaurants homes and cottages and a beautiful white sand beach. There are no high rise buildings, no hustle and bustle, just a laid back old beach town feeling. The Coconut Inn is a newly renovated small inn with studio rooms and suites with one bedroom and living room. All have full kitchens which are well furnished with all you will need. There is a lovely solar heated pool located between the two main inn buildings with a jacuzzi at one end and colored fountains feeding warm water into the pool. The staff is marvelous. Anna, the day shift innkeeper, met us and checked us into our room. She is wonderfully helpful and a most pleasant lady. Later in the day we met Eddie, Anna's husband. He oversees the night shift and is also one of the most genial hosts you will ever meet. The Studio room we occupied was spotlessly clean, furnished with a most comfortable bed , plenty of closet space (with hangers) dining table, dresser, night table and lamps. The room was more than comfortable. In summary, we will be returning to the Coconut often in the future and will highly reccommend it to our friends and family.
Thanks again for a wonderful time.
