we have just come home from the refurbished sirata,we have been coming here for 15 years and what a let down this last holiday was, resort fee $40 per day this is for bottled water but they don't tell you that you fetch it from front desk daily!newspapers (didn't use )coffee I room (didn't use),beach access??anyone can access the beach, pool access?anyone can use the pool they don't know whos a guest or not ,same goes for pool games bingo, trivia etc(didn't join in),towels which I did use, games room for children(didn't use),safe in room I did use, local calls (didn't use),housekeeping??this is to be found hit and miss ,they didn't sweep or mop for 3 days as there was debris on the floor ,parking (used )beach chairs(didn't use)so out of the list you pay for resort fees I used 4 thing ,the suites aren't really self catering anymore as the hotplates have been removedso you can only use microwave, internet is terrible, our housekeeping left our door open all afternoon after cleaning, called front desk but they weren't bothered, the renovations aren't really upgraded the floor in suites is lino and not carpet so take a pair of slippers as your feet will be very dirty walking on it ,I bought a pair .the staff at rumrunners are not really friendly and most of the ground maintenance men are gone .they were painting the walkways from green to brown but within 24 hours the green was coming back through, this years experience has really put me off the sirata and we are looking at renting a full condo for our visit in October really disappointed !!

debrawest1968,

Nothing is more disappointing to us than knowing we were not able to provide you with the experience that reflects our mission. We are consistently looking for ways to improve our guest service and reviews like yours help us in doing so. I hope we'll have another chance to welcome you back once our transformation is complete later this year.

You couldn’t ask for a better team to keep kids AND adults having a great time at the Sirata resort on St. Pete beach. Rainy weather and a holiday weekend were no challenge for Kim (activities coordinator) and Carol (activities supervisor). Pool bingo, trivia, flip cup beer olympics for the adults and endless activities keeping the kiddos entertained, these guys do a great job. Thanks to them my 4 year old never got bored once. Keep up the good work. We’ll definitly be back.

I normally don't review a place twice but my last experience with Sirata was not good so we thought we try it again. I'm a local and live in Florida and have been going over to St Pete to Clearwater Beach is my whole life book The Sirata for a couples weekend my husband called and requested a room with Gulf views arrived and got our keys and the first room had no Gulf views, great view of the parking lot went back downstairs and got a second room the next room was very nice large and spacious a little outdated but very clean we had a great weekend the only issue we had was the pool guy he proceeded to clean the pool for three and a half hours in the morning blocking off and he use before checkout from 8 to 11 and when we asked how long it would be he was rude the rates are average for the area there is a $29 Resort fee that is new they offer use of a bicycles and a few other amenities for that fee. Will definitely go back and try again overall the experience was worth it

Annette C,

A couple's retreat sounds like the perfect way to enjoy St. Pete Beach! I apologize for the rocky start you had when checking in, but it sounds like you and your husband had an unforgettable time at our property. Our transformation is slated to be complete later this year and I hope we'll be able to open our doors for you once again.

Kim was wonderful with my kids. They had so much fun making memories they can take home with them. The crafts were so cute and there was something new each day. My older son was able to play air hockey and Xbox while my youngest made a door hanger and visor.

Room Tip: Stay away from building 4 until their remodel is complete. There is quite a bit of noise and a very long walk to the beach.

Well...we will be back to give the resort a 5 star rating...once they are done with the massive ---- and we mean massive outside reno they are working on. We are anxious to come back & see the final outcome. The new beachside pool, Harry's eatery, and beautiful outside lounge area is going to be spectacular! We can feel it!

Everyone at the property was delightful & happy - even given the chaos of the huge reno in progress...palm trees, concrete trucks, 30+ construction workers, and skid loaders - OH MY!

It was a hot mess - however, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will be back.

From what we can tell - the property's beach is one of the best in the area - wide, beside a private condominium which cuts down on the beach traffic. The water sports folks could move another 30-40 feet away from the beach chairs & it would be perfect. Sometimes it got busy & was a bit overwhelming to breathe&balance with constant flow of jet skis, parasailing, and banana boat rides. Just sayin' - the property & business should consider a way to increase the zen-flow on the beach. It appears there is enough beach area to do make this happen.

Shout-outs to Mikeal, Chad, Glen, Alan, Erin & Karen - we appreciated your mindful consideration to making our first StPete experience a grand one!

Namaste - we may just see you in late November or early December. Can't wait to see the progress of the renovations!

Room Tip: Always pick a high room with ocean view - it is a no brainer @ this property.
