“Demand a newly remodeled room.”
Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

Spent the weekend at the "newly remodeled Sirata." Unfortunately not all rooms have been remodeled. Paid xtra for beach front room- that was a mistake.

Amenities, location, bars, food were great. Just really disappointed in the room. AC is the best part. Bathroom is ridiculously small and you basically walk through it when entering the room. Toilet is children sized (which is all that would fit in the closet bathroom).

I just expected better and was happy to see that it's "newly remodeled" on web site. This place is old.

Dear MyOpinionMatters67,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. It was nice to read you enjoyed the great amenities, location, bar and food. We have updated all the beds, bedding and furniture on the entire property. Our daily goal is to exceed our guest’s expectations each and every time. I am so sorry we failed in your case. We appreciate your honesty and candor and will continue to work on those areas which would have made your stay with us an even more enjoyable and memorable one.

Well worth your stay, would definitely stay here again. Great cheerful service and clean rooms. Bar service was professional, room staff were very nice, food was very good. Try their homemade chips!
Thanks Sirata!

Large property right on the beach...Room had a view overlooking pool and also the beach. Weather was perfect. Nice place to stay even though it was for work. Would stay again for pleasure sometime. Booked it through Bookit.com as a mystery property and was more than pleased taking a chance doing so. Price was right as well.

First let me say, that the first room that was shown to us was a very roomy, clean but the BIG TURNOFF we paid for a ocean view and it consisted of a room overlooking a ROOF! The view was between 2 buildings and was NOT worth the price of a ocean view room. STAY AWAY FROM THE 4TH FLOOR, no view and concrete walls instead of railings. When i refused the room, Jason, the front desk person showed us a beautiful room right on the beach, bottom floor but roomy and clean with a full kitchen like we booked before.
He did his best to accomidate us and knew how frusterating it was, esp since I spoke with someone before we arrived and stated any floor but the 4th.
The hotel itself had everything YOU could ask for, a beach, a restaurant "RUM RUNNERS" ,pools, there is a live band that stops playing about 11pm, when the pool closes. The staff is amazing!! Bernard (bell-hop) and Jason (front desk ) they just made the stay 100% better. would recommend for families and teens

I don't know where to begin...everything was great!! My husband and I visited for our 10th Anniversary. The resort is nice in the sense that you would never actually have to leave once your there. What I mean is there is pools, beach, dining, bars and small shops right there steps from your suite. We had an all inclusive package which included meals and cocktails/beverages, which meant very little out-of-pocket costs. I met a housekeeper named Kizzy while there...she was very helpful and informative. While everyone was really nice, Kizzy just stood out because of her personality. I could of hungout with her during my stay!! There was some small issues with my suite, but they were taking care of with no hesitation. We had a king suite that had a separate bedroom with another flat screen tv. It also had a kitchenette with a full size fridge w/ a smaller apt size stove. The appliances were a great plus!! There were 3 beach bars on the resort that had live music some nights. Nothing like watching the sunset...with a view of the water...with a refreshing cocktail...while listening to music!! I will definitely re-visit. If I had to add a suggestion it would be to extend the hours of the beach bars. What's vacation without a PARTY!! Overall VERY GOOD!!

There are a few different factors going for and against this place. For - the location. Against - the age of the facility. For - the pools and restaurants on site. Against - the people that are there enjoying this.

We were there for a conference. Not one on site though, and off site one. We were told our room had an ocean view. Noooo - it was directly across from the pool. We had no balcony, but a park bench outside of our door. If we wanted to view the ocean, we would need to turn the bench 45 degrees - blocking the hall. The room was fine though. It was a studio and the pics were pretty much what we had. The bathroom and kitchen were a little dated, but nothing that was detrimental to the room. The AC was a little noisy at night with some weird rattle, but we worked on fixing that ourselves. The outside (hallways, stairs, etc) had a lot of wear and tear though. For example, popcorn on the outside hall ceiling was peeling. Instead of taking the rest off, sanding down and repainting, they just painted over it. With the people and turnover of rooms you know they have a hard time starting a project and having time to fix it, but that is where they are. Because they have nice pool areas with the pavers and fire pits, but the other things are run down and just repainted. Sometimes, you just have to replace things.

The employees were good for the most part. The other patrons though could be the issue. First, the kids running up and down the halls during the day and night. At night, you could hear the bands, the music etc if you were near one of their night spots. Every night between 2 AM and 3 AM we always heard people coming home from a night out of fun. If we were one of them, not a problem. But we had to be up at 6. Speaking of - pools were posted with hours of dawn till dusk. This morning about 10 guys were having a diving and cannonball contest and loving every minute of it - at 6:45 AM. Super Loud!!! I never saw anyone out there to tell them to stop. A member of our group said security did make a visit, but that didn't matter. They were still loud. You could hear them all over. And at night - I saw many people in the pool past dusk. Parking was limited too. We saw many people waiting for people to walk to their cars to park. Because of our hours we didn't have a problem.

It was cool that they did have a family movie on the beach. That was neat. We weren't able to go but we did walk by it. The set up was good. It was also nice to have different restaurants on site. You do pay a premium and the menus were similar to others we saw. But if you don't want to leave or can't, you will be able to eat.

If you don't care about noise level, have kids, or don't mind smokers out in the open hallways, then this could be your place.

Room Tip: Ask for beachfront balcony.

This was our second stay at the Sirata and will return again. It's a great location, right on St Pete's Beach. They have two fun outdoor bars, Rum Runners and Harry's, both with good food, drinks, and live entertainment. Rooms seem average, but who wants to stay in your room when you're on St. Pete Beach?? The pool is nice, but the beach is awesome, white sand, warm water and always a nice breeze. We took some beautiful sunset pictures through the palm tree's right by Rum Runners. Great place! Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have a better view even if you're not ocean front. There is a bay on the back...
