“Return visit did not disappoint!”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

My husband and I love the Sirata! Just returned from our 3rd stay where we spent the week celebrating our anniversary. Tremendous value for what's included here - the beach, where we viewed the most beautiful sunsets imaginable, 3 resort swimming pools, 2 hot tubs, 2 great outdoor bars (Rum Runners & Harry's Beach Bar) with live entertainment, excellent bar food and drinks, fire pits in the evenings, hammocks, beach and pool cabanas. My favorite frozen drink they feature is the "Lava Flow". Nobody makes it better than they do. And one of their best kept secrets is the onsite restaurant, "Compass Grille". Enjoyed an excellent prime rib dinner last night followed by a fantasic breakfast buffet this morning which included an omelette station for only $12.95 per person. Prime rib dinner last night included a salad, vegetable and baked potato for only $16.95. Prime rib was huge and I ordered the smaller size. I don't understand how anybody could review this property in a disparaging manner. Rooms are clean, spacious; beds are comfortable. We always reserve a king suite which includes a kitchen with table/chairs along with a living room area, balcony. Suite has wall mounted TV's in both the bedroom and living room areas. Although the complex is not "brand new", the management has done a great job at keeping it updated and freshly painted (think lemon yellow). That's one reason we love it; it's not a "cookie cutter" hotel like the chains. My husband and I spent the whole day yesterday at the pool area by Rum Runners where we were entertained by the island sounds of "Big Rich" (Fridays daytime). The band, "Hotel Funk" played at Harry's Beach Bar last night. This resort seems to appeal to most everyone. We just returned home today and already miss being there. Value here for the money is tremendous - a real "find".

Room Tip: Would recommend King Suites because they come with equipped kitchen plus tables/chairs, living room...

Met a great wait staff. Kathy Kennedy at rum runners. Great service and an excellent value. The food was delicious and the rum runners are fabulous. I can't wait to come back. The only complaint I have is that I was promised pool side or beach side and I'm on the street listening to sirens go off all night.

Wife and I stayed 3 days at this hotel. What a great getaway. Miles of white sandy beaches. We had a 1st. floor room, just outside the pool. A short walk to the beach where they had beach cabanas and hammocks.
Near the pool was an outside bar called Rum Rummers, where they had live music in the evening. A mixed drink called rum runner was my favorite drink. The rooms were nice and clean. One problem is a parking space. They have small, limited parking area and they charge you $8.00 a day to park there. Sometimes you have to park across the street. We are returning to Sirata for 4 days during 4th of July. VERY EXPENSIVE !!!!! On 4th of July they have nightly fireworks on the beach. Really beautiful. I understand they are already all booked up for the 4th of July. and you have to book for a 4 day minimum. Oh well it's only once a year

Room Tip: book early. Request 1st. floor poolside. Request early check in.

We have stayed multiple times since our honeymoon in 2006. We were tremendously impressed this trip. The only disappointment was parking because they booked events so for us staying there, we were really put out. Oh and the internet is charged per device. That stunk. But anywho, our room was fine. Had a larger one last time but this was fine for us. I was worried going back to Sirata because of negative reviews but I don't get it. Yes, the price is steep. But if you see rooms/price/resort fees at others, I'd choose Sirata any day. Building 4 was very quiet. Kizzie was SOOOO sweet. She welcomed us every morning & if we needed anything, she was there. I wish I knew the name of the lady who brought us our breakfast & champagne. She was so nice! Very personable!

We ate at Compass grille & Rum Runners. Do yourself a favor & get a burger at Compass. Omg soooooo good! (Save your money when it comes to the dessert though). We love the pools & hot tub as well as the hammocks! And Harrys Beach Bar is great. I REALLY like that Sirata isn't full of drunk kids in the pools or swarming the bars. The bar down the street is for that apparently. We usually go in June & yes, May was busier. But it was mothers day weekend so could be a huge reason why it was packed.

Sirata really spoiled us and we had the best trip yet. Thank you so much!!!

Once again we traveled to the Sirata for a couple days r/r. Very reasonable price via a bidding site. Our room was in the same building as it always is when we visit. The room is more than adequate for the price we paid. I'm not sure who would be in their room very much when staying here. 3 pools to choose from, each one immaculate. The bars on the beach are great. Fast service, good food and great drinks. Your view of the gulf is perfect. We rented cabana on the beach on our second day. 15 dollars per day. Some may find these incidental charges upsetting, but really folks you are on vacation!! We will continue to come back to the Sirata when we need a break from our home on florida's east coast. And hats off to the staff that the Sirata employs! Everyone that we encountered was so friendly and helpful. Love love love the Sirata!

Rum Runners is a fantastic spot for lunch on the beach! Out waitress Kathy was beyond amazing! Friendly & energetic! She had great suggestions & was on the spot our entire meal- never had to ask or wait for anything. I will definitely be a repeat customer as long as Kathy is our waitress! Best St Pete Beach experience!

While the price has gone up, the service and quality has gone down. We had a shorter stay this time around as we split our vacation between two different locations therefore we only needed a Traditional Room...never get a traditional room, traditional rooms are for guests with short stays there for in poor and extremely noisy locations, lack the TLC all rooms at a resort in this price point should offer and worst of all, when we called maintenance to come see why our room was so damp the carpets were wet, the never showed up! We sat at Rum Runners for 10 minutes waiting for a waiter so we could have some drinks and lunch, no one ever came, which baffles me as we were only 1 of 5 tables in the place. Employees on cell phones and making guests feel like they are bothering them was also an issue, and don't even get me started on the parking, you pay for it...but there is no guarantee you will get a spot. This resort went from an all around "hit'" 2 years ago to a...I'll be going back to the Tradewinds next year. It's such a shame the only thing that is great about this resort now is the location.

Room Tip: Building 4 for quietness. Stay away from the traditional rooms in the main building all together, n...
