The St. George Inn is in a charming building. The owners are charming. The location is absolutely perfect; it is just a stroll to the beach and steps away from restaurants and shopping.
Our room was a suite with a king size bed and a living area that has a fold out queen bed. The private balcony looked out over the bay. All good, except...
1. The carpet was vile. The white socks I wore solely while walking on the carpet were black after a few days.
2. This is a SMOKING hotel, to the point that every balcony has its own massive ashtray. The room reeked of stale smoke.
3. The "fold out sofa" did not work. The mattress was about the thickness of paper and the springs were dead. We all wound up piling into the bed together, which was a challenge.
4. There was no table in the room or on the balcony which presented some interesting challenges.
An added note: the feel of this inn is more like that of a bed & breakfast, minus the breakfast (& in our case, minus the bed).More
