Moved to Florida from Utah and all I can say is amazing! Soft white sand beaches and plenty of space to sprawl out and just enjoy the moment. Lots of small shells for kids to look at and some even have tiny snail like things inside which are always fun. Make sure to park your vehicle at one of the parking spots with a building which has showers and bathrooms or else you may find yourself in quite a bind. It is a state park and I think it cost $8 for one vehicle to get into the park. Well forth every penny.

Want to pretend you own your own island to play on the beach, relax, get romantic - instead of squeezing into a beach chair lodged too close to another person? Where you hear the crash of the ocean instead of the screaming of tiny tots? Where no one is kicking up the sand on top of you?
THIS IS THE PLACE - ST GEORGE'S ISLAND!
We visited in October - a few cars here and there. We found a walkway and meandered to the ocean. Pure white powdery sand and not a sole in site. We threw out our beach towels and snuggled in for the day. Warm and very breezy just like an island should be AND only the waves and seagulls breaking the silence. Picnic basket, a good book, lots of tan lotion, and the love of my life on a secluded island for the day. Don't just dream it - DO IT.
There's a modest fee to enter the park (worth every penny) and there's several bath houses with incredibly clean indoor facilities and outside showers. The park closes at dusk.

Non-crowded, beautiful shells on a white sand beach, very relaxing and would definitely go back. Unusual to see white sand dunes with sea oats growing on them. it added to the picturesque scenery once you crossed the 4 mile bridge and saw all the small fishing boats gathering oysters. Just beautiful!

We drove to the state park, and enjoyed the beautiful beach. There were not many people there, but the employees were very friendly. They told us where to go to see migrating birds and they mentioned the many butterflies. This would be a great place for families to have fun on the beach.

We could not believe how long the park was or how much incredible beach access was offered. There was plenty of room to spread out on the beach and it made it feel really secluded. There were a ton of shells, birds, and crabs on the beach. Great place to relax and take some great pictures. Worth the price of admission ($6 for our two person car). We were there on a overcast day but it was still beautiful. Incredible views of the bay and the ocean through the dunes. Water was a little rough due to the weather, but there was a long shallow sand bar from the beach that day that provided a fun place to walk out into the water. Great place for pictures and shells!
