Well let me tell you fome the time I entered with my son a week ago this restaurant although nicely decorated don't be fooled. the pizza is not good and the service was not friendly either. the owners smokes and then goes right back in the kitchen to prepare food without washing hands. disgusting. we did not even finish the slices weordered despite the fact we had not breakfast that day. I am not sur how they stay in business

I must admit I love me some good pizza and Sister' All American served it right. It was a bit pricey but the overall experience was great.

Sister's was recommended to us by a friend. It's a smallish "pizza joint" along Irlo Bronson Highway heading into St. Cloud. Not exactly a perfect location for foot traffic, but it's worth the stop.

The apostrophe in the restaurant's name changes place and disappears from time to time, a quirky trait in their written material. Walking in, the counter and ovens are right in front of you. The decor is Early Americana and there's even a large chalkboard for children of all ages on which to write and draw.

But that's not the reason to seek out Sister's. It's the pizza, which is as close to real New York pizza as you're going to find down here. We ordered two pies, pepperoni and cheese. While we waited, one of the owners and pizza-makers presented us with a free order of garlic knots. I'm all for butter, garlic and dough, but these were spectacular. They were a bit crunchy on the outside and as light as air inside. Served with the perfect amount of garlic butter (a lot), they were nearly our favorite item.

Then came the pizza. If you're a picker or dabber or in any way concerned that one meal might take a month off your life, this place isn't for you. For everyone else, heaven. The pizza dough was a might thicker than Neapolitan. The cheese was real and there was plenty of it. Hence the grease on top. The sauce was fresh and the dough - in my opinion - is the best around. It's not the afterthought so many chains treat it like. Here, it was a foundation for a dish and as such, very good and fresh. All prices were ridiculously reasonable.

Sister's also serves subs and cheese steaks. We ordered one of of the latter to go and it was great. The beef could and been shaved thinner, but the greasy, tasty bits of meat I used to watch cooked on a griddle that has spent who knows how many years "seasoning" is probably and health code violation down here.

It might take you out of the way to go to Sister's, but for true New York style pizza, great service and a gem of a find, I highly suggest the detour.
