Staff goes out of their way to be helpful, courteous, and works hard to resolve any issues. They make this place above average.

Room and common areas were neat and clean, fixtures and furniture were above average hotel quality.

The coffee at the guest stand was bitter and the food from the made to order breakfast was pretty much unacceptable. We were near the end of the service and there were no glasses for cold drinks, no table service, no clean tables, etc. the one server was busting his tail, but flat out unable to keep up. Not a good use of resources as three people stood behind the front desk enjoying an animated conversation.

I would stay here again being aware of the issues.

To be honest, the choice of hotels on St Augustine beach is rather limited, but this seemed as good as any, and the location was what we needed. We got a good rate, but first impressions were not that good. The lift (the only one) was not working, though not for the first time the staff were really helpful in getting our luggage onto the top floor. The room was large and reasonably well equipped, though the coffee-maker was incomplete and the heating was noisy and the controls not intuitive. The beds were comfortable enough. I liked the shower, but again the bathroom was just getting a bit tatty. For the prices charged, I really felt that it should be better. The staff were great, on the whole, and just about made up for the deficiencies of the building itself.

Room Tip: The suite seemed to be very good value, if you can get one.

Stayed up here for a wedding in downtown St. Augustine and had such a great stay. This property is a great mid level hotel with all the amenities you need for a quick and easy stay. Rooms are nice and big and the beds are awesome because you can adjust them to the right feel!! Lani was at the front desk all the time while we were there and was an absolute pleasure to be around as well as providing us with spot on customer service. She is truly an asset to the property as she knows how to serve guests efficiently and always with a smile. Even the engineering staff was nice when they came to reset the times on our clock. Thanks Chip! Definitely will be staying again soon. Never can go wrong with Hilton!

We arrived excitedly to attend a wedding and spend a few days in St Augustine. As a member of the travel industry, I am spending more than 150 nights a year in hotels, and can honestly claim that I have the experience to compare hotels. A friendly staff greeted us and told us after asking for a suite, that there was none available. We walked into our reserved room and were simply shocked. The beds looked like the sheets were slept in or not pressed, the mattresses were filthy, there were stains on the walls and carpets, stains on the bathroom floor, rust around the bathtub, mold on the walls, a broken coffee maker, and bugs crawling all over the floors, the toilet paper, the night stands, etc. It was so disgusting that we immediately called the front desk and had an apologetic head of housekeeping and a sales manager with an attitude inspecting our room. Obviously embarrassed, they offered us a smaller room that still did not look much better to us. Not caring if we will get charged for our stay, we gave way to our itches (literally) to leave the hotel in a hurry and find another place short notice, late in the afternoon. There went half a day of vacation for us ....Upon checking out at the front desk, we were offered a suite with a king size bed, really? I thought there was no suite available. The hotel decided not to charge us for the canceled reservation. We contacted Hilton corporate and asked for some insight on how a Hilton can be so far below standard. Hilton basically gave us the same lame excuse, including a short message from the Garden Inn stating that they will take care of the sand ants in the hotel. That's it. No compensation for a lost time at the beach or the fact we had to pay more for a short notice reservation at a different hotel. Here comes the kicker: Upon checking in at the new hotel we stated that we just left a Hilton very dissatisfied. The front desk gentleman smiled and said, "Let me guess, it was the Hilton Garden Inn....they have had problems in the past."
Enjoy the pictures we took.

By the way, this was our second bad experience staying at a Hilton (see Doubletree in Breckenridge, Colorado) and I am now getting rid of my Hilton Honors card.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry for the experience you had while staying with us and apologize for the cleanliness issues you encountered. The health and safety of our guests is a top priority for us. We are reviewing our current procedures for servicing guest rooms and are offering staff additional training so that this does not happen again. We have tried several different processes to remove the spots on the tile that were unsuccessful therefore we are in the process of replacing bathroom tiles. I am sorry we could not upgrade you to a suite upon your check in there are only 2 suites on property that both have queen size beds. We do have king whirlpool rooms, but this is one large room not a 2 room suite with a bedroom and a living room. Please contact us so that we can discuss this with you further and help make things right.

We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi tub and it was amazing. The room was huge! The hotel is right across the road from the beach and convenient to downtown St. Augustine. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful providing maps, pointing out coupons, and givin us tips on where to eat and where to avoid.
The breakfast is all you can eat and decent for $8.95. They have a cook that you can place your order with as well as continental breakfast items. We will be staying here again!

We stayed here for one night on a rewards points stay, and it couldn't have been better! The room 331 was enormous and clean. The staff was professional and friendly, and comped breakfast was good too.

We didn't see much of SA Beach, but St Augustine itself is a beautiful place.

i stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at the recommendation of Flagler Hospital concierge, as I had to stay local for a few days after a surgery. The hotel was extremely accomodating and gave me the closest room to the parking lot because they knew my walking would be limited. They provided me with a wonderful welcome packet full of coupons and recommendations of things to do in the city, as well as things to help me during my recovery (such as water bottles). A wonderful place located nearby all the local attractions as well. Great place!
