After sweating at the Alligator Farm, we stopped at Salt Life for cold beers and lunch. It was around 3 pm and not very crowded so I was worried when we walked in and the two girls at the hostess station (wearing sunglasses inside) acted a little inconvenienced to stop their conversation to seat us. Then, it got worse... we were told the CO2 machine was not working so my beer snob husband and father-in-law were devastated. We discussed leaving and poor Karina had to hear their pitiful whining but she still kept her friendly attitude. We ultimately decided to stay and the guys settled on a bottle of Stella and Heineken, respectively. We ordered lunch (after many questions and hem hawing...yes, we were being difficult customers), then about 5 min later Katrina came back and told us the CO2 was fixed so the guys ordered their preferred beers which made them super happy! (AND, they did not charge us for the bottles of beer). MIL was very happy that she could customize her Baja Chicken salad and loved it. I had the street tacos - short rib (good) and a shrimp and chorizo (excellent). FIL really enjoyed his wood grilled fish sandwich. Husband had the club burger. He had three other good burgers over our week-long vacation but said this burger was the best by far. During our lunch, the power went out so we all had a second round of drinks while waiting for the power/our bill. Katrina continually checked on us, was so nice and funny and took what could have been a bad review with the couple of incidents and made it a great experience for us. We will go back next time we’re in town, and will ask for Katrina!
