I arrived around noon and checked to see if my room was ready - - it was not. However, the desk clerk said that if I would go to lunch it would be ready when we got back. we left and actually did not return until 3:00 pm (regular check-in time). My room was still not ready, I questioned why given that I had been told earlier that it would be ready early and the desk clerk (woman named Lee) became really hateful to the point that she actually called my wife a bit**. Maybe I am lucky but to be honest, I have never had a person in the service industry curse me or my wife so this really took me aback.
I am not saying that I did not contribute to the exchange of words but she certainly escalated it to the point of shocking me. I asked that my reservation be cancelled without penalty which she agreed to do and I left.
one additional bit of data about the hotel. It is not near anything. they bill themselves as being in the historic district but they are on a highway not near any restaurants or "sites". The may technically be in the historic district but I would not recommend anyone stay there if they are interested in actually seeing something besides a drug store and highway with cars whizzing byMore
