We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. When we arrived we decided to upgrade to a suite for a charge since we were traveling with a small baby. As we were taking the elevator up to the room the nice bell hop informed us that we had two double beds which is not what we requested. So we went back down and switched rooms to a king size bed. When we got into the room, the sink at the wet bar was clogged and smelled so we called for a maintenance man. He arrived quickly and plunged the drain and agreed that it smelled so he poured something into it and left when we knew it was unclogged. About 5 minutes later it smelled terrible in the room and I noticed that sewage had backed up into the shower due to the plunging of the sink. Needless to say, the entire shower floor was covered in a black sludge and smelled terrible. So, we moved rooms again. The new one was nice, and everything seemed to be working fine. The last morning we were there the phone rang every 15 minutes from 6 AM to 7 AM for a wake up call that we did not order which woke the baby and was NOT fun. All in all, the hotel itself was great and very clean, there were definitely a few things that went wrong for us though.

The facility was nice, rooms were fine, had nice balconies, AVEDA products. Hotel looked good and really liked the meeting rooms. However, the service at the hotel was subpar, parden the pun. Staff left the front desk checking people in when there was a line; the restaurant messed up food delivery to our meeting and was rude about it and slow to resolve it; staff seemed generally apathetic; and there was an incorrect charge to my bill. Just one of those wouldn't have been such a big deal, but all together it was very annoying. I wouldn't use this hotel again for business. Would be fine if you were there for the golf activities nearby.

Took my husband from the northeast to FL for a surprise 50th birthday. Selected this location because of the golf opportunities and very glad we did. Hotel was great, comfortable, clean and great views. We chose to spend time on the courses (King & Bear and Slammer & Squire) rather than take advantage of the hotel options, but they looked nice.
Staff was wonderful - once they knew this was a surprise, they sent a lovely desert plate and personalized note wishing a Happy Birthday! (a great personal touch)
Really enjoyed the brunch buffet - so much to choose from; healthy options and of course - the belgian waffles were great!

We stayed for 4 nights in a king room. View from the balcony was superb. Very relaxing setting with lovely walks around the lake. We considered a number of hotels/ accomodation in the locality we were so pleased we choose the Rennaissance. We tried breakfast in the local golf club which was excellent, we just wished we had tried this sooner. We ate in the Caddy shack & hotel and found the hotel to be superior. Food & service in the Caddy shack was mediocre.
Plenty of shopping & golf oppportunties. St Augustine approx 15 minute by car.

Would definetly like to return. May try the golf villas next time.

We stayed at the The Renaissance Hotel at the World Golf Village in August for 2 nights. When we arrived at the hotel there was a bridal show going on in the convention center and at the same time the hotel was preparing to pave it's parking lot. The parking situation was very inconvenient and we had to park quite far away from the entrance to the hotel. In addition, we were checking in and going right out to play golf. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the door man. We were at the golf course waiting for pick up when the general manager and doorman of the hotel rode up in a golf cart. The general manager apologized for the inconvenience and advised they had left us a gift certificate for $50 in our room. The hotel is very nice, modern decor, the restaurant is also very good. We would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting the WGV area of St. Augustine. It is conveniently located off of I-95 and close to the outlet malls.

The hotel was very nice. Clean rooms, nice amenities, great service. Resturant was less expensive than area resturants with better quality food. However, the weekend I stayed the hotel was hosting a convention of a less than quality group of people. They smoked constantly, especially around the pool and jacuzzi, allowed thier children to run around unsupervised and were generally loud and obnoxious! It really put a damper on my "quiet" getaway. I suggest you check to see what (if any) groups are booked before you make a reservation. Better safe than sorry.

This place exceeded expectations. We took this trip for a romantic getaway for some golf and sightseeing. This trip offered that and much more. From the most beautiful golf course to the downtown historic sight seeing. Never have I seen so much history in one place. You would literally need to travel out side of the country for this, From the comedy club to the varied and unique shops St Augustine offers so much. Then just about 10 minutes away from downtown is this resort with a clean perfect room and many restaurants. The one we ate at in the hotel was 500 South Restaurant and Lounge not only priced well but the food was amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We will be returning again hopefully soon.
Sincerely,
Your very pleased guest.
