My wife and I have been visiting St. Augustine since the 70's. While it's an excellent place to visit, like may destinations mornings before 10-11AM can be a bit lacking in something to do. Since we tend to be "early birds" we were going to stroll along the waterfront, when we saw the carriage. We have taken most of the afternoon and evening rides and were quite surprised to see Roosevelt and Patches across from the Hilton Bayfront, on Avenida Menendez with their white and red carriage.
By far this was the best tour of St. Augustine we've taken, and Roosevelt provides a signature view of the history and culture of early (and current) St. Augustine. The tour takes just a bit less than an hour and the morning breeze made the ride very enjoyable.
So if you're looking for something to do early in St. Augustine look for Roosevelt and Patches, Top Hat and Feathers, white beard, and a white and red carriage. It's a great tour and you'll most likely see parts of St. Augustine you've missed.
