Owner description: Located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, Memorial Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are not just any church. We are Florida's first Presbyterian congregation, established in 1824. CNN has named us one of the eight religious wonders in the United States. The present sanctuary was given by Henry Morrison Flagler and dedicated in 1890 as a memorial to his daughter Jenny Louise Benedict who died from complications from childbirth. Mr. Flagler, his first wife, Mary, daughter Jenny Louise and granddaughter, Marjorie, are entombed in the Flagler family mausoleum at Memorial. The church is open for visitors Monday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a tour of the church by one of our trained docents during the week and then return on Sunday to join us in worship. Our visitors come from across the state, the nation, and the world.

The church itself is a very impressive building that magnifies the glory of Christ. Its stain glass is very extensive and beautiful and tell the story of the Bible. The pipe organ music is delightful although it is loud. The worship service was meaningful and I enjoyed the liturgy.

This church is lovely outside and inside. It was built as a memorial to Henry Flagler's daughter and granddaughter. There is a brochure with a self-guided tour of the inside and also a docent on duty to answer any questions. They request a donation of at least $1 per person to assist with the upkeep of the beautiful building. Very peaceful!

This is sooo worth seeing! Go inside the church. It is free. See the beautiful stained glass windows. Gift shop. You can even attend a service here.

if this is the Presbyterian Church that we went into, just next to the campus, it's quite impressive on the outside. some nice windows inside. to us it was an unusual interior but we're used to Catholic ornate interiors.
