Owner description: Located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, Memorial Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are not just any church. We are Florida's first Presbyterian congregation, established in 1824. CNN has named us one of the eight religious wonders in the United States. The present sanctuary was given by Henry Morrison Flagler and dedicated in 1890 as a memorial to his daughter Jenny Louise Benedict who died from complications from childbirth. Mr. Flagler, his first wife, Mary, daughter Jenny Louise and granddaughter, Marjorie, are entombed in the Flagler family mausoleum at Memorial. The church is open for visitors Monday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a tour of the church by one of our trained docents during the week and then return on Sunday to join us in worship. Our visitors come from across the state, the nation, and the world.

This gorgeous building was just an amazing sight, even though inside tours were closed on the day we visited, we enjoyed taking pictures of the structure itself.

“What a tribute”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

Henry Flagler truly showed his love of family when he built this remarkeable church. The stained glass windows are something to see. The organ is magnificent in looks and understand it is incredible to hear.

The volunteer staff is most accomodating in answering questions and the quiet is most welcome after a day of sightseeing.

“Beath taking -”

While there really isn't a "tour" your welcome to enter the church and look around - there is always someone there to share the story and answer any questions you have - a very good conculsion to the Flagler tour.

“Beautiful church”

Take time to stop here on your visit to Old Town. The stained glass windows, mahogany wood, and organ are worth the visit.

“Beautiful and historical part of St Augustine”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Love this church from the front steps to the original pews in the church. Lots of history about the Flagler family including the tombs. The stained glass windows tell a story all it's own. Amazing crucifex lighting orginally gas lite. One of the most beautiful churches here in FL
