Owner description: Located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, Memorial Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are not just any church. We are Florida's first Presbyterian congregation, established in 1824. CNN has named us one of the eight religious wonders in the United States. The present sanctuary was given by Henry Morrison Flagler and dedicated in 1890 as a memorial to his daughter Jenny Louise Benedict who died from complications from childbirth. Mr. Flagler, his first wife, Mary, daughter Jenny Louise and granddaughter, Marjorie, are entombed in the Flagler family mausoleum at Memorial. The church is open for visitors Monday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a tour of the church by one of our trained docents during the week and then return on Sunday to join us in worship. Our visitors come from across the state, the nation, and the world.

“A MUST SEE VISIT”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

This church is the most beautiful place of worship ive ever seen. The stained glass windows and sanctuary are beautiful. The church was built by Henry Flagler who spared no expense in its construction. Also, the toombs of Flagler, his first wife, his daughter buried with her baby can be respected here.

“beautiful church”

The Minister's voice is resounding and wonderful. Fantastic message in sermon each Sunday. The children's time is short and to the point and the children love it.

Fort is extremely well preserved giving it was made from sea shells. Top of the fort affords numerous photo opportunities.

“Christmas Eve Service”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

This church is filled with all walks of life and all ages. They made us feel at home even though we were visitors. The Church is very beautiful inside and full of Flager history. The service focused on the birth of Christ and alot of music accompanied the rice story both from the choir and the congregation. My only frown was havng to pay $5 to park for one hour next to the church. Mind you I had already call a few days before to check on service times and where to park but there was no mention of the fee. Lucky for us we just happened to have the exact amount.
