First impression was not good, but when I got over the initial shock, I found that the food was actually pretty good. There is nothing pretty about this place but the crab legs made up for it. Gator tails (first time having these) were not too bad either. Fried and peel & eat shrimp were very good as was the banana pudding and key lime pie for dessert. Go ahead, give it a try but don't expect too much from the place itself.

This restaurant is in such a beautiful location and that's the only thing positive I have to say about it. It's a disgusting, filthy dump with all the ambience of a junkyard. We thought the food must be really great given how many people were at this dump--we were wrong. We got the grilled platter and they used so much seasoning on the various fish and shellfish you couldn't taste the seafood. The sweet tea tasted like they had just gotten the water out of the swamp. And the platter was over $60!! My wife was mortified by the filthy women's restroom. This place should be shut down immediately.

We heard great things about this place, so we made the haul out to see what it was all about. Wow, disappointing! We were expecting some dive on the water with great views, a pitcher of beer and delish blue crab. It was on the water, but due to a flood 4 years ago a concrete wall now blocks all water views! Seriously! We were sat at a table covered in shrimp shells and guts, whatever. But overall the service, while sweet, was lacking. Appetizer came out with the meal, condiments came out 10 minutes after the meal, other servers walked away with our roll of paper towels and ketchup, neither was ever replaced (towels were kind of necessary given the messy food). The food was ok. We had fried oysters (a dozen for $14) - not as juicy as I hoped, and crawfish and blue crab. The shellfish was a bit dry, but ok. Certainly not worth the 45 minute drive out there. Bummer because I was really looking forward to this! The only perk was strolling down the boardwalk after our meal and spotting a little gator. Wonder if there is a way to put tables & chairs on the pier?

In Starke on business and was referred to this place by someone "local". I was NOT disappointed. It was the best fresh crab I have had, the blue crab cakes were out of this world, and our server, ANGELA........fabulous. Very rare to find waitstaff to wait on a large table that wanted separate checks and still remain "nice". She not only ended up being the highlight of our night, but if we ever travel to this area again, we will come back here mainly because of her, secondly because the food was great. The person that recommended the restaurant said it was not really convenient to anywhere we were staying (Jacksonville), and it looks like a dive when you pull in, but the parking lot was packed at 3 in the afternoon, so we decided to go in, and we are all glad we did. Our group was from all over, Wisconsin, North Carolina, local, Minnesota, we all raved about it when we went to work the next day. Definitely worth the drive!! Ask for Angela, she is a great people person, and went above and beyond. Love it
