“Great Park for a "back to nature" Florida getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

We returned today from our campout at Anastasia. It is a well-preserved area. As Florida residents, we appreciate places in the state that are unspoiled by developers. The beach is natural - not bull dozed with high-rise condos, the park amenities are well kept and the workers we met were friendly. If you are a camper or even a visitor, go to Anastasia for the beach and a snack. There are also rental kayaks and catamarans. Up the road and across the street is the lighthouse. The camp squirrels, cardinals and various finch-type birds were a treat too. The weather was cool this week but we enjoyed the park.

“Wonderful park with lots to do”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

We have St. Augustine many times over the years but we had never visited the park until a little over a year ago and we were delighted with the concession stand with lots of things to rent and do and the beach was a beautiful long sliver of silver sand. Walkways allow handicapped to enjoy the view. Worth a stop for a half day or a full day with the family.

“My favorite beach in St. Aug!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

I live here and this is by far the cleanest, most serene & best beach in town. No cars, no dogs and since it's a State Park, it's always kept up beautifully. Totally worth the $8 to get in. I haven't camped here, but it seems to be very popular for that.

“Can't wait to come back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

Anastasia is hands down one of my new favorite destinations. My fiance and I are travel buffs. We love to camp, we love the outdoors, and we don't necssarily like the hussel and bussel of big towns. The pictures don't to Anastsia justice. We arrived Early March and decided to tent camp in the park (we were in lot 95). Not only is the park clean and safe, but it is gorgeous. We have never been to a camp site that was so pretty and PRIVATE! All the staff was friendly and all of our surrounding families were wonderful. The beach is wonderful, and within walking distance to anywhere you decide to camp. The waves are bigger than I expected and is not crowded by any means, even when we went for spring break. Saint Augustine is just remarkable..its architecture and history is amazing. When you go to Saint Augustine, eat local! Try Mojos Tacos. A small organic and laid back taco restraunt that is just absolutely delicious. I will crave and miss their chicken burritos when I'm all these thousands of miles away. Definitley see the famous fort, the lighthouse was okay..pretty but pretty bland museum, and definitely check out the alligator farm.
The only downfall of Anastasia is that you have to book at least 6 months in advance (I dont blame anyone for the wait..its worth it)
Cant wait to come back.

Went here while up in the area for a concert,my family and I were pleasantly surprised about this beautiful beach. The long walk up to the beach was awesome, we got to see a blue heron snatch a snake right out of the grass! Also a huge turtle walked on by us at lunch. The beach was nice and clean, had great shelling capability, and the ground is nice and flat along the tide lines so you can walk in the water for a little ways and not get soaked. They have a little cafe and store right near the parking lot, had a hotdog there-- it was very good! One of the best beaches I have been too in Florida.
