“Beautiful beach, not overcrowded”
Reviewed August 3, 2011

We loved the beaches at Anastasia, they weren't overly crowded, the sand was powder fine, and the water temperature was much warmer tHan expected being on the Atlantic.

“RV Camping, Cooking Out, Beach Days, Bike Rides... A great trip!”
Reviewed July 27, 2011

My husband and I (along with our little dog) spent a week here in our grandparents' RV. What a great time! We are in our early 20s, and we were probably the youngest people camping on the property (aside from kids). The campsite was very nice- the bathhouse wasn't bad at all (and I'm not big into camping, I prefer hotels). We spent our days either down on the beautiful beach or roaming around St. Augustine, which is a short drive away. We would definitely go back!

“Relaxing day at the beach”
Reviewed July 22, 2011

I would recommend going to the Anastasia State Park for the day. The beach is very nice and well maintained. There were life guards and clean facilities. There is an entrance fee charge, but well worth it. You can bring your lunch or there is a small snack bar. If you are visiting St Augustine for several days, I would definitely tour the lighthouse and then head for Anastasia State Park beach.

“Beautiful Beach and Shaded Sites but crazy amt of spiders!”
Reviewed July 10, 2011

This park is definitely one we're going to want to come back to and probably even annually. The sites weren't very big, but they were shaded which is a must in this face melting FL heat. The beach was soooooooooooo beautiful and a little piece of heaven that we did not want to leave behind. Just expect the waves to be big as it is the Atlantic (we are on the west side of FL which has relatively small waves as it's in the gulf). If you walk down the beach toward the pier, there is a neat little water park (water squirts and playground) for the kids. We did not go in the lighthouse only went in the souvenir shop as it was way too much to go on the grounds of it and up it plus young children were not aloud to climb it or be carried up it so our three yr old would have not been even able to go up. If you exit the park and take a right, there is a neat playground over there and a skateboarding area. The nature trail in the park is very small but nice to stroll through and the sand dune area in the front of the park is pretty strange, but again nice to stroll through and if you walk througout it you will see lots of turtles. The playgrounds inside the actual park are nothing special. They should be called swingsets and not playgrounds. The two "playgrounds" on the camping loops are just swingsets and the playground at the beach area is better but still small for such a big park. It needs shade and again it is pretty much just a swing set that also has a couple surf board balance things to step on and a different kind of teeter totter. The trees near the beach were all twisted and weird but very neat looking. Seems like a lot of ppl were catching quite a few fish in the fishing area (we caught crabs and lots of them LOL). The spiders were the worst I've ever seen and I am a very outdoorsy type of person. Huge and all over so the kids were not able to explore in the woods like they could at other state parks. I don't think they were poisionous but they were EVERYWHERE especially all over the bathroom exterior. All in all though we will surely come back. Just want to book in advance bc it was hard to get a spot on the days we wanted. ENJOY!

“Nice park for a picnic and play in the sand.”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

Worth the money for a better beach than the saint augustine beach and a nice place to have a picnic lunch by the water.
