Owner description: San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. All together, San Sebastian labels have won over 1,600 awards for excellence in winemaking, with more coming in each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida and Georgia. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. The Cellar Upstairs features incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine, draft beer and light appetizers.

Stopped here on a whim on our way out of town. Very glad we did. Enjoyed the Muscadine wines and Marshall gave probably the best presentation session on wine tasting that we have ever experienced....and that's saying something because we live in the Santa Barbara, California area - having visited dozens and dozens of wineries over the years. Great place, good people, and great recommendations for things to do and places to eat while in town. Wish we would have stopped here on our way in vs our way out. Also...free tour and tastings. Yes...free. That's certainly something we can't say you'll find back home in CA.

The tour is free and the wine is great. You learn a lot about wine in general and the wine making process, our tour guide Gerald was awesome. The port wines were my favorite. They also have a fun gift shop and a wine and jazz bar on the roof.

This place was easy to get to and seemed to be a great place to tour. We did not take the tour as we were a little rushed for time, however, we were able to purchase some of their wines. This place is worth the stop.

I learned more about wine, wine making, wine tasting and wine buying than I would have thought possible. The winery is a fun and educational experience. I am a Florida native and did not know about Florida wine until this visit.

We should have known we would be in for trouble when two tour buses were in the small parking area. One bus prevented us from parking conveniently. We went to go sample and really wanted to buy but were turned off by having to wait for the next tour. We thought we might just go try and buy but two busloads of people made it impossible and cramped. We left without sampling or buying. We really didn't need a tour and there are so many things to do in St. Augustine we didn't want to spend an hour on this.
