Owner description: San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. All together, San Sebastian labels have won over 1,600 awards for excellence in winemaking, with more coming in each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida and Georgia. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. The Cellar Upstairs features incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine, draft beer and light appetizers.

“Great little winery!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We really enjoyed the tour and tasting, but the wines are great and quite reasonably priced. Will order by mail.

“More than a winery”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Every visit to St Augustine includes a trip to the winery. We have our favorites but I never want to miss a wine tasting opportunity to see what else may be new. The staff is super fun. In addition to wine there is live jazz and food on the roof top on the weekends. Make this a visti when in town, you won't regret it.

“Free wine tasting - what's not to like?”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

I actually went to the winery twice in two days. The first time I missed the tour and was allowed in to the tasting, led by Doc, who was thorough in his instructions of how to correctly taste wine. I went back the next day to try to catch the tour, and caught most of the video and tour. I enjoyed myself, but did feel the tour was a bit rushed. Because the production of wine is done offsite, the tour is not very comprehensive.

I would go back again for another tasting, as between the two tastings I participated in, there were 2 wines which were not offered for sample. The third floor features live music on the weekends, and I would be interested in checking it out on a nice night and enjoying a glass of the Vintner Red San Sebastian produces.

“Best winery tour ever”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

This had to be the best winery tour and tasting I have ever been to. The tasting portion was so thorough and interesting that tried to order a case of assorted wines, but Michigan doesn't allow it to be shipped in!

We took the tour and bought a couple of bottles to bring home. We enjoyed the wine tasting at the end of the tour.
