This hotel is in a wonderful and convenient location. Can walk to almost everything! Gorgeous view, clean hotel, helpful and pleasant staff, and great food. Highly recommend it! Would definitely go back!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a balcony, the view is fantastic!

But at what cost? Mildew, mold and bug spray. We used Hilton Honor points, many Hilton Honor points, to stay on the second floor away from the bay front. Reminded me of my first Florida hotel, a Days Inn near the Orlando Airport. NOT Rome airport, or Caribe Hilton, or even Hilton Longboat Key where we have stayed at a similar cost. That said, excellent staff, specially in the tiny dining room.

Room Tip: Avoid rear facing rooms.

Booked this Hilton for a one night stay on the drive to south florida. As other contributors have attested, the location is truely ideal with the historic district and practically all noteworthy local attractions within mere steps of the property. The staff, accomodations and location are fantastic. The only mistake was staying only one night. we plan to visit st-augustine again, and plan to stay here again. Don't hesitate to check this hotel out.

We visited St Augustine for a day but after a couple of beers and seeing an outdoor restaurant that looked lovely, we decided to stay the night. We selected the Hilton as it was a well known brand and location was excellent. As far as Hilton's go, it's at the low end really. The room and bathroom weren't anything special but we did pay for a room on bayfront and the view was gorgeous, we spent some time sitting out on the balcony watching the sunset. That was really the best part of the hotel. It suited our purpose for the short stay and central location but this weekend when we return to St Augustine, we are trying a bed and breakfast instead of returning to the Hilton. Reviews on how that compares to follow!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the bay have beautiful views.

Our hotel is designed and furnished to recall the second Spanish era of St. Augustine, the oldest European settlement in the country. I am sorry that this decor is not to your liking and would hope you will return when you have more time to experience the ambiance of our hotel and city. We certainly try to give every guest a unique experience and in this instance we failed to meet the mark. We would like to have you back to see if we can give you a rich experience.

Booked this Hilton for a three night stay heading south soley for its location. As other contributors have attested, the location is truely ideal with the historic district and practically all noteworthy local attractions within mere steps of the property. All aspects of this Hilton were exemplary - attentive and accomodating staff, nicely appointed, comfortable clean rooms with turn down service at night, very good food and excellent service. Our room location also afforded us a very quiet stay, always appreciated when traveling. As an Honors member, I appreciated the complimentary breakfast but think there should be a discount on the valet parking for Honors members as other Hilton properties do.

But for those of you who are most familiar with large, full service Hiltons, scale down your expectations as this one is quite small. In fairness to Hilton, this is by design as St. Augustine city would not permit a multi-story Hilton be built in the historic area. To compromise, smaller, multiple buildings (max two stories) that house the rooms, connected by walkways are the norm here. So be prepared when you walk into the lobby area that the check-in area, lounge, restaurant and bar are all compacted into a relatively small area. It all works well but the space may not be what you are used to. The only complaint about the lobby area is the lack of sunlight - the heavy window treatments and small windows don't allow enough light in so it's too dark for this traveler. Nevertheless, a very nice property, albeit a little expensive, but you can't go wrong here.

On the main strip on the Bay, equi-distance between the Bridges of Lions and Fort Castillo de San Marco, if you are visiting St. Augustine, this is the perfect location that is within walking distance of everything! A beautiful old hotel that worked within the flavor of the neighborhood instead of commercializing a city block with an out-of-place skyscraper. A wonderful old-world flavor lobby area with an awesome breakfast buffet set out daily for their guests. Beautiful rooms with a corner soaking tub in the room itself (finally one me and the hubby could actually fit in at the same time!) and very comfy beds. Being Honors members entitled us to a balcony upgrade as people-watching was a nightly routine before dinner. A small pool and even a workout room, something we didn't expect as it is the smallest Hilton in the states, but don't let that detract from this being a prime choice. Out the back door and you are instantly in the midst of the endless maze of streets, with shops, bars, and restaurants literally in every nook & cranny available in this town. The Tini Martini bar is next door to your left....don't miss this spot for a pre-dinner cocktail. Only down side was the pricey, nightly fee for valet-parking, as there is NO parking available except their underground parking garage which is valet-only, which really should be included, especially for Hilton Honors members at least.

Room Tip: If you can upgrade to a Bayfront balcony, well-worth it!

We made a reservation 1 week before we visited St. Augustine and we had a wonderful visit. However, we requested a room with a view of the water, but they were not able to fulfill this request. The pool area is small, but one could always sit outside there to enjoy the water view. We also ate in the restaurant for a late dinner because it was convenient. What a lovely dinner, the food and service were excellent. The room was immaculate and spacious with two queen beds. The beds were super comfy and I love their pillows. The location of this Hilton was perfect for all that downtown St. Augustine FL has to offer. We were extremely pleased with this choice of where to stay. Enjoy!

Our hotel experiences a very high demand and at times, the demand for bayfront rooms is way beyond our availabilty. I am pleased to know that in spite of the lack of availabikity for a bayfront room, you enjoyed your stay. Our staff appreciate all your kind comments and we look forward to your return.
