I stayed at the Regency Inn with my husband and our 8 month old baby. It was an excellent experience. The room was clean and neat with a fridge and microwave and the beach was right across the street, but what really made the stay so great was the staff. They offered us a crib, gave us change for $100 so we could order pizza, they kept the pool open an extra hour so we could swim in private with our baby, and they were super friendly. Overall they just really went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome. This hotel is affordable and nice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I stay at this hotel every year when I visit St. Augustine Beach. Free beach access is just a walk across the street at the Pier. The Pier also, includes fishing, playground, waterpark for children, and outdoor showers. The hotel prices are affordable, and if you aren't planning on spending alot of time in the room...it's perfect. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and efficient. It you are looking for fine dining, room service, and a bed turndown service....this is NOT your place. If you are headed to St. Augustine for a beach filled trip, with great access to local restaurants, and a comfortable, clean room...stay here! I've never made a complaint, or had a problem with this hotel. The continental breakfast isn't lavish, but decent. All in all...a very satisfied repeat customer.

We wanted a room for one night of hanging out with friends celebrating my husband's college graduation. This place fit the bill for that perfectly. When our friends checked in, they had a little problem with the key not working in the door. Once that got settled, we were problem-free for the rest of the night. We had dinner at Panama Hattie's which is just a short walk from the room. We ended up staying all night at PH's. It was nice not to have to drive anywhere and just crash at the Regency Inn. The room was clean and comfortable. The mattresses need to be replaced, but for 1 night, it was not that bad. There were burn holes on some of the bedding and curtains (? how do you burn curtains with your cigarette?) but other than that, it was not so bad. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a basic/safe place to crash after a night out. The room we were in had THREE full sized beds, which was super for the three of us couples that stayed there. And the price was reasonable.
They have an indoor pool but we did not use it. We did walk by it and there were a few kids in there playing, so I am guessing it was decent.

We stayed there on Memorial Day weekend while on our way to Mayo in Jacksonville. Hotel is convientently located across street from the pier, beaches and swimming. Surrounded by places to eat. Close to downtown St. Augustine for sightseeing and Anastasia State Park for "old Florida relaxation". f
The staff was outstanding and could not have been any nicer! They were all friendly and accomodating. Family owned hotel and it shows with family atmosphere from staff at desk.
Rooms were very clean. Basic accomodation and not luxury but well worth the value.
****The offer hotel rooms with #3 BEDS. How aresome is that for traveling families with more than 2 kids or kids that need their own space!!!! It worked out great for us, my husband & I were traveling with 2 kids and a babysitter. It was the perfect solution for us.
The hotel offered a continental breakfast of danishes, muffins, cereals and banannas. It was not a full meal but it certainly put something in your stomach to hold you off until lunch. Nice option for everyone who does not get up and out the door for daily breakfast on schedule.
Regency Inn has an indoor pool. How nice to be able to watch family swimming without baking in the sun (thats what the beach is for right?). Kids swam before bed and it wore them out. We were grateful that we did NOT have to deal with the "young partying crowds" that sometimes you run into when traveling. Pool was well monitored and right off of the hotel lobby. We liked that you had to enter pool from the lobby so we knew the staff would address issues if they occured.
Value was great and very reasonable. I did not see spending twice the price for other accomodations that had nicer chandliers. This hotels is just fine and definately worth the money. You are going to sleep in the room not live in it. If it is a honeymoon, splure and stay at a bed & breakfast. For families traveling on a budget, Regency Inn is a great option and worth serious consideration. We would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.
We have stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels and although these accomodations are basic, we found them perfectly suitable after all at the expensive hotels you don't get to take the marble and chandliers home with you. Save the money and eat at a nice place for dinner.

For the location and the price, we have really found this hotel hard to beat! Staff have always been accommodating, bringing extra pillows, etc. Rooms are large, and while they haven't upgraded to flat screen tvs, who cares? Isn't the real reason you go to Florida the beach? Our only complaint is that the mattresses are getting a little "springy" in that I didn't sleep well b/c I could feel the springs. Our friends stay across the street, at St. Augustine Beach Resorts, so they can bring their dog, and have an outdoor pool. That place is, as my friend says "very crusty, but the beach & pool make up for it." We like it here, because you can swim indoors if the weather is bad, and it's SO conveniently located! Right across the street is the pier. Be sure to go to the Farmer's Market there! The best restaurants in our opinions (there are 5 of us) is Cafe 11, on 11th ave & AIA, and the Sunset Grill. Panama Hattie's is beside the hotel, but their service and food has been poor to lousy 5 years running.
