Excellent fried shrimp. The whole family enjoyed it. I would recommend it to any of my guest any day of the week.

The crab cakes were awful, even the 2nd ones they brought out, when the first were sent back. Asked if the clam chowder was any good and got "meh, not so much" What! Really! from a waitress?? WOW
The fried shrimp was light and tasty and surprisingly filling for only six of them. Lunch came with two sides of your choice. The options included some novel choices (pickled beets, Brussels sprouts) along with the usuals. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient.
I'm not sure what I was expecting exactly, but this is a very average restaurant that seems to do fried food pretty well, but not too much else. Both chowders were actually very good and the fried shrimp was as well, although they were small. That's where the good food ended though. The blackened fresh fish was too burnt to tell how fresh it might have been. The broiled scallops were awful and overcooked to the point of being rubbery. The stuffed shrimp was ok, but nothing special at all. Oh, the hush puppies were pretty good too. Service was average.
There have to be better places in St Augustine than this. Disappointing.
We have been eating here for more years than I can remember. We don't get to St. Augustine that often, but when we do, BB's is a must. Today we made the 1 hour 45 minute one way trip, just to have lunch here. The fried shrimp are lightly battered and fried to perfection. The sides are good and there is usually a wide variety to choose from. I have not ever had hush puppies as good as these, they are huge and light and fluffy and not at all greasy. Now, I have to dream about those shrimp till my next trip to BB's.
