My aunt, sister-in-law and I were looking for a restaurant on the water for a late lunch over Easter week. We had seen Conch Island advertised in one of the local tourist magazines and decided to give it a try. It is off the beaten path a bit, but well worth finding. We sat on the deck under an umbrella, settled in with some Bloody Mary's, and enjoyed the view and the food. We watched and photographed pelicans and other shore birds, and just took in the sparkling water all around. The conch fritters, a favorite of mine, were delicious. My aunt and I had salads which were large and fresh, and my sister-in-law had a bacon cheeseburger which she pronounced excellent. We will definitely try dinner there on our next trip. If you are on vacation, looking for that "relaxing on a tropical isle" moment, go and enjoy. And don't forget to check out the alligators!
