“Wonderful New Attraction”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

We toured the new Colonial Quarter attraction in St. Augustine yesterday. They give a guided tour of the village that is divided into 4 areas the 1600's, 1700's, 1800's and 1900's of the eras of St. Augustine's history. Jacob our guide was excellent. He gave us quite a tour, about an hour and provided us with information on the beginning of St. Augustine and it's history and all of the different nations that have controlled and governed the city. He was quite good at inserting some humor into the story.

We would definitely recommend this attraction to all people, locals and visitors. The wristbands they give you allow you to return to the attraction again the same day and for several days afterwards.

“We liked it.”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

This was the first time visiting the Colonial Quarter and we really enjoyed it. There is a guided tour where someone dressed as a character from that time period will take you around and he does a really good job of presenting the history of St Augustine. There is a 35ft tower that you can walk up and see a really good view of the harbor and the fort located across the street. The displays they have are really interesting and offer a lot of information on the history of Florida and St. Augustine.

“A little bit of Williamsburg in Florida”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

This interactive attraction reminded me of Colonial Williamsburg. We had a great tour guide. We were able to go back the second day because we kept our armbands on us. The bilingual signs were nice and good reminder of how Spanish St. Augustine is. It was educational but still entertaining. The Combo ticket with the Pirate Museum makes sense if you are going to do both. Two minor disappointments: I wish there was more (exhibits, people in character, little hidden surprises. And the two restaurants had limited seating. It was cold and both had indoor and outdoor seating. but indoor was not enclosed with no heating or AC. In summer I imagine those restaurants would be too hot. We passed both days to eat there though we were hungry.

“Must see”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

Very nice, and our tour guide Grimm was fantastic and made us all laugh. I remember that attraction from few years ago, there were volunteers dressed up as settlers who would tell you more about their professions and the traditions of colonial life. Without them it seemed to be kind of empty.

I would highly recommend visiting the Colonial Quarter. My children, ages 6 & 9, and I took the full tour. We learned a great deal about Florida's history. Our guide, Jake, did an excellent job and made it very enjoyable for the kids. When we go back to St. Augustine, this will be one of our first stops.
