We were told that the Cafe Alcazar was closed on Mondays and we were disappointed that we had to visit ST Augustine on a Monday. We were pleasantly surprised that they ARE open on Mondays and our lunch there was fabulous!!! I had the spinach crepes and rice and the serving was enough for two, my husband had the artichoke hearts over linguini and he loved it. The live music provided by the guitar player was soooo nice, just enough soothing background music to make the whole experience elegant and romantic. VERY reasonably priced as well.

What a place. Located in the nation's first hotel indoor swimming pool. The area is so luxurious and so much fun at the same time. Where else can you show up in shorts and sneakers and be served elegantly in a small dining room with live guitar music. The restaurant is tiny, only open for lunch and filled with locals who crave their tasty food. Always 3 or 4 fresh homemade vegetarian soups a day, but also many salads, sandwiches and the best brown rice, bean and cheese dish anywhere. Their oatmeal desert is heavenly. It's an adult haven, not really for kids.

A little hard to find as it is hidden in the Lightner Museum but you don't want to miss it. The cafe was located in the deep end of a once indoor pool. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. A gentleman played soft guitar music which added to the experience. Good prices.
