“Have to experience location with great tasting, wholesome food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2009

What a place. Located in the nation's first hotel indoor swimming pool. The area is so luxurious and so much fun at the same time. Where else can you show up in shorts and sneakers and be served elegantly in a small dining room with live guitar music. The restaurant is tiny, only open for lunch and filled with locals who crave their tasty food. Always 3 or 4 fresh homemade vegetarian soups a day, but also many salads, sandwiches and the best brown rice, bean and cheese dish anywhere. Their oatmeal desert is heavenly. It's an adult haven, not really for kids.

“Cozy little spot for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2009

A little hard to find as it is hidden in the Lightner Museum but you don't want to miss it. The cafe was located in the deep end of a once indoor pool. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. A gentleman played soft guitar music which added to the experience. Good prices.

“Splendid surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2009

We ate luch at Cafe Alcazar on Sunday, February 15. We were hesitant at first because we had just toured the O.C. Lightner Museum and the guide was encouraging us to go. I have been to many museums where the restaurant was attached and the restaurant was barely tolerable as they have a captive audience (museum attendees). We were so surprised! My husband and I ordered the same thing, chicken with rice and beans. The meal was so flavorful and was also a good sized portion. We were full and very satisfied. The service was very good and the ambience was extremely pleasant. The tables surrounding us were populated by older couples (no children) so the music in the background was able to be enjoyed. All in all it was great food in a great environment. I would definitely come back!
