The rest of the reviews capture this place well. I didn't know what to expect when I heard "a restaurant in the deep end of a swimming pool", but it was a pleasant surprise how they pull it off. The atmosphere is relaxing, the service was attentive, and the food was excellent. Great place to stop off, see something unique, and have a reasonably priced "gourmet" type lunch.

When you first see the restaurant it doesn't really look like a pool, but when you look at the old pictures, it looks just the way it did back then, when it was a pool. I think people are thrown-off, because it doesn't look like pools we swim in now a days. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. Their was piano music the whole time we ate lunch. The food was very good and the portions were large. We ordered sandwiches and soup. The sandwiches had so much meat in them. The soups tasted home made and very good. My sister got the Escargot for the first time in her life and loved it. It was such a unique and pleasant dinning experience for all ages.

It's hard to believe you're having lunch in what was once the largest indoor swimming pool in the world. Service was quite good, and the food was excellent. It's fairly expensive but worth it.
The restaurant is hard to find - at the back of the Lightner Museum and down one floor, and it is only open for lunch.

Neat place set in the deep end of the old pool in the Lightner Museum. Service was excellent, crab BLT was delightful. Off the beaten path. A hidden gem in old St Augustine.

Peter from Gold's Tour told us about the hidden cafe at the Lightner Museum. We are so glad we had this experience. The atmosphere (eating in the deep end of the pool), the history, and the food was superb! We had the Crab BLT - outstanding! Great service, great atmosphere. A+
