We happened on this little family-owned restaurant while looking on Aviles Street for another restaurant which happened to be closed. So glad we did. Had the Ropa Vieja, one of the three House Specials. Shredded brisket flavored with a peppery homemade sauce, and served with a nicely-seasoned black beans and rice cup, and sauteed plantains. Delicious. Friendly. Enjoyable.

Maybe it is because we go to Miami so we know what a good Cuban breakfast is suppose to be. This was just ok. The plantains were inedible, the eggs were average and the cafe con leche was like american coffee with steamed milk. Overall I would have to say no bueno and no bargain. The service was just like the food, uninspired.

Loved meeting the owner and enjoying authentic Cuban faire! We highly recommend anything on the menu! Outside & inside seating with a delightful, casual atmosphere...not to be missed!

This is a very small place on a back street in St. Augustine. The food is excellent, that's for sure, what's not so excellent is listening to the staff bicker amongst each other. My husband and I went for dinner and decided to have an appetizer first then order dinner... Our server went and put in the order then proceeded to get yelled at because of the way she put the order in. We heard everything considering it is such a small place. All this being said you should try it out... The food really is worth it. Just ignore the kitchen area.

We love all the little shops along Aviles. This is one of our favorites. We go back often, even multiple times, on the visits that we are able to make to The Ancient City.
