A group of us from a plantation not far up the coast stayed at the Casablanca Inn for a few days of martini tasting, so every lunch and dinner time we'd wander over to some convenient restaurant to have a bite to eat. I happened to get a sample of Pizzalley's pizza on one of my daily walks and it was yummy, so I recommended that we visit the place as a group for lunch. It was no mistake. This place is pretty darn good, although my Mediterranean Mussels (which I had with french fries, creating a standard French/Belgium moules et frites) were a little bitter. Not the savory garlic/butter/wine sauce that I prefer. But everyone at the table was reasonably happy with the atmosphere, the service, our drink selections, the food and the price (although one must remember that this is a tourist town and prices are perhaps 15% higher than they should be). No matter, as I look through the take away menu, I see many other dishes that I'd like to sample, so the next time we're in St Augustine (which will be in a month), we'll stop back at this place. And BTW, we also one evening took a short stroll over to La Pentola and dined outside by the light of our smartphone flashlight apps (see review). The food might be as good there, or even better than at Pizzalley's, but we couldn't tell. But both are conveniently located to the old town hotels and inns, so you can decide for yourself.
