“I agree with everyone else”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

We had one night in St Augustine, and I called a few days before for a reservation after reading the great reviews. They were booked, but I asked them to put me on the cancellation list. EW couldn't make the 630 cancellation due to short notice, but they had another one at 8, and they were able to squeeze us in. We had to wait about 20 minutes, but only because we asked for another table due to a very jovial, loud (read: drunk) group in the front dining room celebrating a birthday.

We were seated in the center table of the "main" dining room, which only has about 8 tables. The service was straight-forward without being too attentive, absolutely no complaints. I had strawberry salad to start- light and fresh, followed the coconut crusted red snapper on basmati rice with grilled julienned veggies. It was perfectly cooked, and the portion was right-sized. I could have eaten two, but then I would have been way too full. My partner opened with the goat cheese mousse (two thumbs up) and the shrimp and scallop pasta dish in a porcini mushroom crème sauce. He reported that it was not too heavy, well-balanced, and the seafood was not overcooked, which is always a concern with shellfish.

Nice setting, the staff went out of their way to fit us in, convivial atmosphere. Highly recommended.

“Our 37th Anniversary Dinner”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

We came to St Augustine to celebrate our 37th Wedding Anniversary and knew we had to pick a very special restaurant for that night. After looking through all the reviews and talking to the ladies at our B&B....we decided on Collage. We made reservations through Open Table, days in advance to make sure they would have room for us. We arrived that evening and were placed in a quiet corner of the main room. This is a small and very intimate restaurant. After making our drink orders, we had bread arrive at the table, which was very good. It came along with an olive oil mixture as well as baked garlic to mash on your bread. Salads and sorbet were next. My husband ordered the Filet with Truffle Butter and said it was one of the best he had ever had. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Imperial and could not have been happier. At the end of the meal, our wonderful waitress brought out a Butter Rum Cake for us to share. Yummy! The service could not have been better. The entire dinner from start to finish was incredible and they made it a very special night for us. Thank you Collage! We will be returning.

“Good Food but Loud”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

We dined in on Saturday 6/28 as part of our 27th wedding anniversary weekend. We arrived approximately 5 minutes late of reservation time. We were seated in the front of the restaurant in a corner table. All was well until approximately half way thru dinner a large group (approximately 12 people) arrived for their reservation.. The waitress re-arranged the tables and accommodated the large group literally right on top of us. To add insult to injury, it looked like this group had already started their pre-party before arriving and were in typical loud obnoxious form. This is a very small place. The waitress told us at exit that they had another table selected for us but since we arrived 5 minutes late, they had to move us. This is a very small place. The food is good and the waitresses are friendly...but if you are looking for peace and quiet, we recommend that you look elsewhere as you never know when they are going to pile up a group of 12 strangers literally breathing on you.

“Excellent dining experience”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

Enjoyed the dining experience at Collage and hope to return in the future. Atmosphere is intimate and comfortable. The staff are attentive and keen to make every guest happy. Had a wonderful selection of wines to choose from and chose the Baked Brie as a starter...yumee! The Collage signature 8oz steak with a really decent 2oz portion of Foie Gras added to complete a wonderful meal followed by a their incredible selection of desserts ;-)

“Nice evening but not perfect”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

The food and service were very good. I had the 8oz Filet (EXCELLENT) but to be honest with you I was Not impressed with the house signature sauce that accompanied it. IT was overpowering with a tomato base that one would more expect with a pasta meal. This sauce took away part of the enjoyment of savoring a perfectly cooked steak that would melt in you mouth. Beware if you are driving to this resturant it has no parking facility or arrangements to park nearby and this can be a problem. Also they have no liquor license but wine beer and champagne is served
