You can not image how great this place is. They pull you in with the roasted garlic clove that comes to the table. It is not alone. It comes with its very good friends, basil infused olive oil and hot crusty bread. As you sit there with the infused olive oil dripping off or your face and crumbs on your lap, you begin to hope the rest of the meal that follows is just as good. AND IT IS. I had the brown sugar grouper and it was perfect. My husband had the lobster. Mercy, it was all so very very good. We went for our anniversary. It was amazing, romantic and so worth the drive.

We were leary going here on NYE. But it was great. They called us and seated us 45 mins prior to our reservation time. We started with a trio of oysters - one Rockefeller, one with a spicy salsa type mignonette and one with a cucumber capellini and caviar. Very good, fresh and plump oysters with just the right amount of toppings. Next was the goat cheese on two separate salads - one with a roasted beet and goat cheese galette and one with a macadamia toasted goat cheese nugget of goodness. Both were fresh and tasty featuring tangy goat cheese. I had the venison loin - medium rare and extremely tender with a cabernet demigalce. Excellent. We also had the lobster ravioli in pesto cream sauce with a couple shrimp and lobster tail. The tail was cooked perfectly. Soft, juicy & succulent - not rubbery and overlooked. Good service and good food in a busy night. Recommend highly.

Our reservation was honored on time. Our table good. It is a small space but even the little front room is charming. It was a little chilly and a fire was going, giving the front room nice ambiance and a bit of guard from the cold coming in the front door. The service was friendly and efficient.
Every bite of food was wonderful. The appetizer of spicy shrimp and a datil pepper soup started the meal off right. They split a Caesar salad for us but I took all the delicious anchovies. We had the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and filet mignon with gorgonzola sauce. All was incredible! For dessert we split the rum cake. It was a large serving: 3 pieces of pound cake with delicious rum sauce. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Saint Augustine is very lucky to have a restaurant like this. It truly deserves its top ranking. This is always my favorite in a town that has many enjoyable restaurants.
