Great fried shrimp...very fresh, with a light batter. They have a small, lunch portion which gives you the taste without getting stuffed. Lots of veggies/sides to choose from, all delicious and homemade tasting. Great comfort food. Always good and we've been coming here for years. It is busy, sometimes with long lines, but worth the wait. Today, we ate a late breakfast, then came for lunch at 1pm...no wait

Yes indeed, the fried shrimp are really good!! I also had a bowl of the Minorcan Clam Chowder, it was so good, that with the lunch size shrimp dinner was all I needed!! It was so great and the service was awesome. But get there early, they open for lunch at 11 am and the line had started to form at 10:40 am. I noticed as I finished my lunch if you get there any later than noon be prepared to wait in line. Also they only take cash, no cards at all.

Always busy,no reservations, cash only.when you go you check in at outside window and wait for seating. Usually within 15 minutes. Worth the wait. You can also wait in antique store or pub next door. Great seafood, reasonably priced. Excellent service.

First of all be prepared to pay cash! But this place is not expensive. Do try the fried shrimp or you will be sorry as you will see that nearly every plate that comes out of the kitchen has shrimp on it. We arrived before 5 and the place was full. It was November though. First thing we saw on the door was a sign to register at the window. Odd. We went to the window but the woman there waved us to go on in. Our server told us that in season people line up for hours outside despite the heat, in order to get a table. They give their name at the window so they will be called in order. We both had shrimp. I had 6 shrimp with two sides (I chose, for some odd reason, to try pickled beets and coleslaw which really don't go together but individually each was very good). It was $7.95. My husband had the 12 shrimp with 2 sides ($14.95). He chose fries and a veg. We both had soft drinks and our bill was around $27.00 total. Others had mentioned the 'pink sauce' and the 'hot sauce' and our server told us to try the pink sauce with the shrimp first and then if we want it spicier to add a few drops at a time of hot sauce until it is just right for us and that's what we did. Excellent meal. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Would love to return again. Closed Sunday/Monday. I wish more people would put that into a review if they see that a place is closed a certain day or time.

Anytime we are in St. Augustine (or driving by) we always stop to eat at O'Steens. Right across the Bridge of Lions from Old Town. It is a tiny place. You WILL wait in line outside to eat (benches outside). No credit cards (bring cash). But they have the best fried shrimp in St Augustine (maybe in Florida). The spicy tomato based Minorcan Clam Chowder is wonderful.
