Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. We try to eat here each time we visit St. Augustine. The food is superb and the service always excellent. The other fun thing is the building itself which is quite beautiful with many rooms, levels, atriums, fountains and colorful mosaics tiles.

A beautiful property with fabulous Spanish tiles and a wide, varied Spanish menu. Our tapas lunch was delicious, but service was not particularly attentive. Asked for more bread, which never seemed to arrive, and water glasses were not refilled until we were leaving. This was surprising for a tourist area during a slow time of the year. Staff is friendly, but seemed a bit disorganized.

We have eaten at The Columbia every time we visit this area and the food is always great. We were extremely dissapointed when we went there on our last visit. There were several parties waiting to be seated which is understandable. I don't mind waiting if the food and service is worth it. The hostess was extremely rude to several parties that came in, including us. When we looked around there were 10 emply tables, now maybe they had a server call in so again I won't hold that against them but with me attitude goes a long way. If you are a busy, well known restaurant you should know you are always going to have people waiting. Put on a smile and let them know you will be with them as soon as possible, don't make them feel like you don't want them eating there because if others are like me...we won't.

Our food was very good but was smaller portion than anticipated. The menu suggested goof for sharing for 3-4 people but it was enough for two people and we were not overly stuffed. The atmosphere can't be any better. It is a great place to eat at and it is lots of fun. The sangria is unbelievable and the best value to get the pitcher. Our waiter seemed too busy at times and mistakenly charged us twice for our order but then corrected it. Service is not the best but you can't beat the atmosphere :)

One of the best restaurants we ate in on our trip. It's a huge place, one of several owned by a Cuban-American family, with the original place opening in 1905 in Tampa. Although this one seats 600 diners and probably gets a lot of tourist trade, the Columbia has a huge menu of high quality, well-prepared items. We focused on the seafood, choosing shrimp and salmon plates. Good serving sizes, excellent flavor. The waitress was very helpful in guiding us through the many options on the menu and we were not disappointed in any way. Don't let the size of the place turn you off - if you are in St. Augustine, try it out.
